I think KoF is awesome. It’s a simple game and you can pick it up pretty quickly. I don’t know why people just dismiss it as garbage without even playing it. It REALLY makes you look stupid if you just dismiss the game as being shitty without giving any good reasons first. I mean, if the game sucks that badly, then surely you’ve played it at a high level so you know WHY it sucks, right?
I’ll play the shit out of KoF XII because I played it in Texas and loved it from what I played.
What’s everyone’s status on BlazBlue? I know the game is shallow compared to say, Guilty Gear, but that was the point.
I never said the game itself sucks. I said SNK sucks for not selling their products up to the standard they should be. The game could be perfect, but if they advertise online play, and it’s as trashy as Garou/FFS/KOF98UM/SS2, then for me, why pick up the game?
All said, if it’s at AR in August, and I don’t already have it (which I won’t have it if the netcode sucks…no point for me), then I will partake in some casuals. But that will be as deep as I go.
Hey I’m coming up to STL for a few days in a week or two to visit family. Is there any arcades to hit up or gatherings or whatever? We usually play every friday down here but we have no arcade so I’m hoping to get to one!

Time for stl to put them in their place ;)…i play for competition, dont care if the games good or deep or not.

I had really high hopes for KOF XII, but I hear its getting fucking killed in Japanese arcades which leaves me to believe that its not really that great. I got BlazBlue instead.

As far as bad ports, I agree with you. I hate online play with the exception of HDR, and even then I haven’t played that in forever. Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but even if KoF12 had NO netplay at all, I’d still buy and play the shit out of it.
Rex - I played for a while when the game first came out. I learned quite a bit, but I’m not great at it or anything. As far as Cassandra goes, you really can’t go wrong with such a broken ho. I’m down to play Blazblue with you anytime you want man. I’m still looking out for a real business character. Ragna is really cool, but I feel like he’s limited in dealing with the top tiers. Taokaka is someone I’m considering because she’s so similar to Millia and so braindead compared to her as well (some of her shit is really mindless), but I don’t know if I want to get that boring, lol. Learning how to move with her will be the most frustrating thing I think, but it’s nothing a little practice time won’t fix.
Maybe I’ll just end up learning Rachel, but I feel like too many people play her here already. I like her once you get going with her, but until then I’m clueless as to what to do. Maybe I just (again) need to put in a shit ton of practice time and watch vids, because she’s different from the other characters I’m considering on a fundamental level.
Im alot more hype now after going to KC. They had a litchi there i split with, he was doing 20 hit combos but he had to hit me to do em and he had trouble with that 
. That was kinda the theme in KC, they could combo and had setups, and because of that i dont think they think at all while playing lol. Just kinda dashing around cluelessly while looking for there dial a combo or certain situations in which they know setups. I cant wait to get the game and learn the combos, then train with you/atrice/andy and try to become a threat in this game too.
