Sticks, how do I tighten them?

So I have my stick feels a little loose. I doesn’t got back to neutral as much I want it to. What do I need to do to make it snap back into neutral a little better so it feels tighter? I was thinking about getting a new sawna stick but I was told that those are kind of loose as well.

What should I do?

I just wanted to say, I bought a brand new TE stick and the stick is too loose for my tastes. I don’t get it because all the TE sticks I used prior had super tight sticks and that’s what I loved about them. Seriously mine feels like it has been broken in from months and months of use (it’s brand new Type S Super Street Fighter TE stick BTW).

Oh and the RT stopped working after an hour… yeah, I think I got a turd. Goddamnit, it was the last one they had for 360, too…

Do a spring mod to tighten up your joystick. Searching this forum will help you out with further information. I’m just here to guide you.

Get an LS-56. That is all

i agree with networkingyuppy. a spring mod is probably the best and cheapest option for this. you can get the spring at lizard lick or gamingnow.net

If you do go the route of LizardLicks, however, you may as well look into investing in other parts or perhaps find something else upon the site you might wish to purchase. A stiffer spring would definitely solve your problem. Though we are talking about a $.95USD part attached to a standard $5 shipping fee via USPS. I am in the same boat as you, looking to tighten my TE:S’s standard JLF series stick. Strange thing, but I noticed that my stick felt even “looser” after I switched to an octo-gate. Too loose, as a matter of fact. I am planning to purchase either the LS-55 or LS-56 spring as well to replace.

Alright, thanks guys. Just wasn’t sure how to fix it. Are you guys sure the LS-55 and LS-56 are tighter?

O great Shoryukenites, can I get a little nudge in the direction of a spring mod tutorial/QA thread?

Aesthetics are one thing, but i’m starting to get into the technical tweaks, and i’ve seemed to have spilled noobsauce all over myself, and need a little guidance as to the P’s and Q’s of personal stick tweakage. i’m looking for pring mods in particular!

thanks in advance for any information!

PS-- i’ve been pouring over these great forums, and have picked up only niblets of info. this dumbass needs chunks

if you want to be cheap, home depot sells a pack of springs (something like 50 or so springs in there) for like 4 bucks.

i have a home depot spring in my stick and it plays much stiffer and better.

You can fit a ls-55 and the stock spring on a te. So I have two springs in my sticks, and they’re stiffer than … I’ll stop there to avoid being infracted.

I was gonna post that vid, but good ol jdm beat me to it

Funny thing is- I did this mod on a few of my sticks- both with a jlf, and ls spring, and I was convinced I loved them both. Then one day long after that I finally played on a stock TE again and found that I actually like the stock jlf way more :stuck_out_tongue: Not sure what it was, but now when I compare the two side by side, I just feel more comfortable with the stock one.

No TE was ever super tight lol.

My LS-56 has actually gotten pretty loose lately. Like I can wiggle it quite a bit while still remaining in dead zone. Meh.

Thx for the help JDM and Manman! that video makes it seem incredibly easy.

Not a bad idea, I suppose. Though as HomeDepot is a rather large store, what specific area/department did you find this assorted spring pack in?
