I don’t frequent any of those sites (or at least, I’m not a frequent member of their communities, maybe that’s more accurate?), but I’ll look for a submit-a-tip type area and give it a shot.
Submitting to other sites would be better if the front page of the site had more info.
That said, we need concrete plans for the raffle and other stuff. Having that makes us look legit, and makes people worry less.

And all the disclaimers and information should be added to the release, like terms, conditions, values, destination of the money (and the amount that goes to donation and the amount that goes to a fund for helping with the build of the next stick, if you guys decide go that route), dates for everything, from the shipping the prize to the donation of the money.
It should be dumb proof and, like d3v said, adds legitimacy to the thing and makes clear the stuff is serious.
Q: Does it matter what the value of the stick is for tax purposes for the eventual winner(s)?
I would imagine that as the stick has not and never will not ever be for sale, so therefore it has no discernible value. However, I’m not a U.S. citizen, or rather a citizen of anywhere that has to file taxes.
First sentence is enough as is. I actually believe that is correct and therefore it doesn’t need to be taxed.
