im super pumped for marvel 3. ive never played a vs series before, but im still wicked hyped for it. ill still definitely play super and im waiting for mk9, and AE to drop on consoles. ill play any fighter really.
I did. It doesn’t really belong anywhere on SRK these days: it doesn’t really add much to the overall discussion. =\
Shuma Fukin Gorath, they don’t make em like that in Street Fight.
The overall discussion being? I thought it’d be interesting to see the consensus view on what game is looked at as “the game” for the fighting game community. I put it in the Super section because it was directed to Super players. I don’t think it’s that farfetched of a thread.
But oh well, carry on. Close it if it really doesn’t add anything.
lol you know a lot of people think that way about ssf4. I’ll be sticking to what i’ve been playings ssf4,BBCS and mvc2 and 3.
I’ll play the odd round of SSF4, but I’m so hyped for Mahvel 3 that I’ll cut all contact with the outside world for the entire weekend to play it.
I actually made the jump from SSFIV to Blazblue: Continuum Shift. So, coming from BB:CS, the transition to MvC3 shouldn’t be as different than if I were immediately coming from SF.
I’m a bit apprehensive with MvC3 at this point though. I was never a big fan of MvC2 due to 85% of the roster being unusable in high-level play…which forced everybody to essentially pick the same “group” of characters over an over. Although, it does look like MvC3 will be a bit more balanced than the last game. I’m just hoping that there aren’t 4 or 5 characters that EVERYBODY will use this time around. Gets a bit boring if you know what I mean.
Bro, SF has like 20 dudes in karate suits though. The character designs are AWESOME. lol
Dropping Super. The only reason I’ve been playing that shit for the last three months is because it’s basically the only thing people play locally.
mvc3 is way better than ssf4
I’m definitely dropping SSFIV for MvC3 at least until AE drops, then I guess I’ll balance it out a bit. I’ve always been a big fan of Marvel and have been playing it for years, so it’s nothing new to me. IMO, the game is way more intense than SF and I love it’s gameplay. MvC3 is going to be my main focus for a WHILE, with a side of AE. Super is as good as extinct. I’m never touching that game again.

IV left a bad taste in lots of peoples mouths. Between the constant Ono trolling to the re-release and now AE. Thats over 120 dollars if you tried to keep up with the series and thats not including if you bought the DLC costumes.
Count me the fuck out.
LMAO! That fit the situation perfectly. Nice.
Well be prepared to have your tasted buds get shitted on even harder by MVC3 when the costumes, DLC characters, version updates comes out.
Going to play both for sure, but MVC3 only for about 2 months I think.
Lets see what we have here SF4 - Easy mode game with a shrek lookalike ryu. MVC3 - Easy mode game with chars that look like someone jizzed over. Guess i’l be playing what i have been playing for the last couple of years 3rd strike, thanks to capcom who hate money and really love their core fanbase who supported them over the years. I really hope their future games go along the same route then we’ll be playing fighters with 2 directions and 1 button. What I mean to say is WTF Capcom making new games means new ideas and more complex and deep gameplay your going backwards instead going forwards you greedy sobs.
I won’t buy costumes, characters yes thats a good thing, version updates? as in patches? and what not, Im ok with that.
Why not continue playing both?
