im just throwing it out. if jumpsuit, cigarbob, and giga-msx go to evo, they are on the southwest team for free. cuz through the years, they have proven to be the most solid. but at the same time, none of them have been to evo in a long long time. So depending on what happens, i may hold a gualifier tourney at Devastation in late june, here in AZ, since most people from the sw region will be there.

On an unrelated note to that, know that some spots for the midwest team will be up for grabs. Two spots are filled for sure. I’d like to do
(a) qualifier tourament(s) at the MWC. So if you’re planning on going to EVO, you want a spot, and you’re from the midwest you should plan on showing up.
I don’t have any details on what day it will be, but I’ll try and run it opposite of the actual ST:HD tournament. Eventually I’ll start a discussion thread to work out the details, stay tuned.
P.S. My spot is up for grabs. I plan on playing in the qualifying tournaments for a spot. I’m not one of the two spots already taken.

Cole is right. Special treatment for Team Japan would be kind of lame. Team Japan not only would skip any other tough matchups, but would also have a country team playing against a US regional team for the title.
IMO just let Japan play the singles tournament like everyone else and see how well they can go at that. Or if you must have them as a team treat them like a regular team, except that this may defeat the purpose of finding the best region in US.
The best thing actually could be to have the 5 best US players against Japan, and even better if Europe and Canada are included too. Selecting those players would be a bitch though, unless the 5 on 5 is scheduled to late sunday so Evo results can be used, which may not be feasible.
