I get what you’re saying, but… they can do all of that in SCHOOL.
Nothing wrong with playing games at a young age it just has to have a time limit. I started with tron deadly discs for Intellivision. Then got atari 2600 and 7200 then sega master system then the game changer NES. Now that Im 31 I dont even play games like i use to. between 11-25 games was the drugs for me but now its eh…
There are games i get hyped for but most of the time its whatever and I was the biggest gamer. every system from 7200 foward I had. Turbo graphics,3do, all that trash…lol.
My parents would take the games away from me if i got too upset or obsessed over them, so I learned from that. Then there was times going by where i grew up where my parents was like shoot I’ll get him a game if it keeps him away from dealing drugs, gettin multiple girls pregnant getting shot etc.
When and if I ever have kids i’ll encourage them to play the games–cause a few games like Tron hold special family bonds and connections to me. Tron was the first game i played with my dad–so kids will remember yea i played those games with my fam.
So kids are suppose to play games and have fun–lord knows they gonna have to really deal with the world sooner than later. And if you a parent already might as well have fun with your kids. You can still teach them all the life skills they need.
its not about DOING IT.
its about BEING INTERESTED IN IT.
interest is a powerful motivator.
if your primary interest is gaming, you dont gain much from that interest.
if your primary interest is something productive, you get something useful as a byproduct.
for example if your primary interest is making music, and you also play video games, you can create music. aka nintendocore style music.
or even desk’s project dolphin or something of the like.
and it doesnt have to stop there, you can throw away the video game influence on music if you like and just make music.
if your primary interest is just video games, you can make combovids or something, but no one cares about that except for people that play tons of video games anyways. and atm it seems impossible to make good money doing that.
it can probably argued back and forth but anyways, i think i’ve made my personal views clear enough.
