Starting a SSF4AE/UMVC3 Gaming League at your Walden Galleria Microsoft Store! (Buffalo Area)

Hi Guys!

So I might get a lot of bashing for this but I’m trying to start a Gaming League in my Microsoft Store for AE and UMVC3. Its going to be some time around January. (Also my first time setting up an event like this for the FGC)
I just moved to the area about a month ago and I want to see how big our scene is here given that we are close to Toronto and what not. I would like to hear suggestions from you guys on how you want it to be run (Need to be appropriate and approved by my boss).

I live in downtown Buffalo, right by the Electric Tower and ECC (I’ve only been here a month so sorry if I don’t know places yet. lol)

So what I have in mind is to at least make it weekly or bi-weekly. We can do casuals, or a small tourney every week or so if you guys want. We might have some refreshments served on some days and sometimes not depending on how the turnout will look.

Set up wise, unfortunately, we don’t have GDLK Asus Monitors etc, we only have the portable VANGUARD monitors that you can hook your consoles to, And of course since this is a Microsoft Store we are playing on Xbox 360’s.

I really would like to help the community since I have no time to play Fighting Games anymore. So I really would appreciate the help.

If you want to get in contact with me, shoot me an email here: tuesdayfunday@live.com or feel free to reply to this post.

Hey man… welcome!?

You ever think about looking at the actual Buffalo thread to gauge interest? :stuck_out_tongue:

(it’s about 2-3 posts below this, and one of the more active threads in ATL north section)

We also have a ‘Buffalo Fighting Game Community’ group which is quite large and active on facebook. Hit that up too, a lot of Marvel/SF guys post on that now.

All joking aside, I am highly interested in any new players being this motivated! You should come to one of our weekly meet ups and chit chat with us about what your plans are and in turn we’ll lend any support and ideas we have. Plus you can play us as well ~_^ If you are more on the promoting side of things and don’t really wanna play, we can still talk face to face, which is always the best route anyways.

PS. We already have a ton of equipment, travel to a ton of tournaments, have already ‘well known’ players in the region and are always looking to add more to the fold.

Welcome to Buffalo, hit me up if you have questions. I am our resident dinosaur.

As Cha Cha said, welcome to Buffalo. We already have a solid scene. League play could be fun and Brian is the guy to talk to if you need help organizing something. Definitely come to our Saturday weeklies sometime and check us out.

Cha Cha isn’t kidding about being a dinosaur. In fact, me and Bloodspoor are both dinos as well (not as long, of course). But yeah sounds like fun. It would be great if you can make it to our weeklies.

Thanks for the info guys, specially Brian.

I checked out the thread and it says you guys play Wednesdays too, I’m actually off today I want to actually drop by and see your venue lol. I can’t say I can do it regularly, even though I love my job at Microsoft its still technically retail and still have that retail schedule. I’ll check the thread and get the info on how to get there via public transit cuz I don’t drive lol.

Wednesdays is not at our saturday venue and isn’t happening right now (they used to be at UB North campus), since it’s the holidays/winter break.

If you wanna stop by PnT (where we play saturdays) just to check it out, that is an option. I could perhaps meet you there around 7. Just gimme an email or something.

Also please consolidate posts to the Buffalo thread, let’s not get two separate discussions going :stuck_out_tongue:
