Great my installation CD is refusing to work. FML
damn so does that mean failburger is taken?
Just download it from the blizzard website and activate it with your key
Also, no you can’t change your name in Wow, well not really. Your account name is not visible to anybody anyway, but your Character name is. If you make a new character you get a new name, but to change your existing characters name you have to pay a fee of like $10, and even that was only implemented a few years into the games life. They dont want people making throwaway name accounts, because then its easy to be offensive and trolly and just create a new account.
I went to the Day9 party last night, had a lot of fun. I played a lot of SSF4 there, took like 50 wins off the local players which was pretty fun, only lost 1 the entire night (damn you Balrog!) with Makoto. I found it funny some people played SF the ENTIRE time, didnt even stop to watch any Starcraft matches or anything, really blew my mind. I left after the first round of the KotB matches because I had work the next morning at it was like 2:00 by the time I got to sleep, I’m looking forward to more events like this in the future
You can’t seal off a name on Bnet 2.0. Whatever name you make gets paired with A) your e-mail address and B) a number relating to when you registered your account. If you just want to add random ass people you meet on SC2 for matches all you need is their name and their unique number. For instance you could have a JACKBAUER #4183 and a JACKBAUER #8534 on your friends list. They can also add you to their list with your e-mail address, except that shows your full real name next to your handle. It’s called being a “Real ID friend”.
So I’ve never played SC before, but I’m thinking of picking this up. Should I be able to hold my own online after running through the campaign?
Eh, kind of. Since you’re new, you’ll get steamrolled in Multiplayer hard, but then you just get placed into the lower divisions and end up playing mostly against people your caliber anyway, so it stays nice and balanced in that sense. As you get better, you can move up to higher leagues.
But in short, what you learn in campaign doesn’t really translate over that well into multiplayer, but it does at least give you a feel for all the different terran units
You’ll definitely need to improve your game through multiplayer afterwards. Don’t fret the placement matches too much because after you play five of them the game will seed you into players of similar skill level.
Edit: Pimp Willy is monitoring this thread better than I am.
Haha naw, Im just stuck at work and itching to get home to play some SC2, I did the Collectors edition at 25% off from gamestop and its being delivered sometime day, so I didnt take the day off work to play.
It also may be the first time I care more about Single Player than Multiplayer SC2, though when I make my account I’ll definitely post up my ID so whoever wants to play can get some matches in, spectator mode is awesome for stuff like that too.
Is there anyway to check if a given name is already taken before you sign up? I doubt there is, and mostly it doesn’t matter anyway, but it’s always nice to make sure you get the #1 of a name
Is Blizzard offering a downloadable version? Does it come with a key? If so, I’d love to avoid the store, can you PM me a link on the blizzard site? I didn’t see anything like that…
EDIT: Never mind. I learned how to read, I apologize. See you all on B.NET!
JUST go to battle.net, from there its pretty straight forward.
I just got my copy, I’ll see you guys there.
Quick question, does this allow for multiple installations with the same key? I’d like to install this on my laptop as well as my desktop. I know SC1 simply wouldn’t let two people on Bnet at the same time with a key, is the system here the same or similar?
IGN did a quick, five minute recap of what happened in Starcraft (sort of). Kinda humorous and educational.
IGN Video: StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty PC Games Video - StarCraft in 5 Minutes
Well that certainly helped me lol, thanks. I just got SC2 for the multiplayer but I might give the campaign a try.
You can install on multiple systems, you just can’t be on bnet at the same time at both location obviously. My friend has it installed on his Macbook and home PC. You register your key on battle.net then sign into it from the game.
Alright cool. I just picked up the game and the $25 Bradygames guide. It looked like it was full of good info, so I scooped it. Hopefully it’s worth it.
I’ve done a few missions now and I never get the achievement “complete all objectives” although I’ve done the bonus objectives and obviously the main ones. I don’t care about the achievement but I’m missing out on credits ain’t I?
Maybe it’s a “complete all objectives throughout the entire campaign” achievement or something.
^_-;
picking mine up right after work. i’ve been playing brood war campaigns when the beta ended and i’m probably going to suck big time.
I hate IGN’s humor. They’re so dumb.
Anyone having Mic problems? I see the indicator moving and the test works but my friend and I can’t hear eachother.
And whats up with the no Gen chat?
