Starcraft II!

I still dont know why I dont have a key, ive playing SC and BW since day 1

man i suck at star craft… badly, atleast this is practice for the real game think i’ll play protoss only. Maybe a bit of zerg

goddamn you guys. Damn you all.

Yeah I know it’s fake but it makes me wanna try and hack into people’s emails. JK’ing I would never do that.

I’m going to apply to blizzard for a concept art position next year. It’ll be really funny if I get a job with them before I get a key.

screw keys and shit, when is SCII coming out? I feel as if a large world is playing out there, and when it actually comes out, a lot of people won’t care…

How the hell do people get faster APM. My apm is stuck around 25-45.

Yeah, great change

I’ve been playing random since I got into the beta a couple weeks ago. I’ve gotten the hang of almost all of the matchups now, the most mystifying one to me is Protoss VS Zerg

Toss seem to have a lot of trouble against Mutalisks… vanilla Starcraft 1 all over again

Just be more aware of what you have to do. Spam at the beginning to warm up. Make workers constantly and monitor your minerals so they’re as low as possible. To play optimally, you should have around 100ish apm and once things start to hear up you will hit 200ish apm. A lot of people say apm doesn’t matter and that you have to spam to get high apm but if you watch pros play, they don’t spam in late game and they’re still moving extremely fast.

SC2 might not have the mod yet but in SC1 I used a program called APM alert which shows your real time APM in game and plays an alert sound if your apm falls below a certain number. I just played APM focused games against the computer for a week and my APM went up to 200ish w/o trying when I went back to playing real games vs other people.

Still sucking at SC 2 but i called up gamestop today and they said they are taking preorders for the Collectors edition for SC2, i jumped on that immedeiately. So now i have a Collector’s Edition of SC2.

Aside from this, it’ll come naturally the more you play and realize what it is you need to be doing. A lot of players move in a rhythm too. For example, your rhythm could move like this: move/control army -> build workers -> race macro ability (spawn mule, spawn larva, chrono boost [although sometimes toss should save chrono boost for certain situations]) -> macro up more attacking units/army -> build for tech/food/upgrades -> repeat.

Of course that’s only an example, and it may not be an effecient order or whatever. It’s just an example of the general idea. Also, make sure you are always building back your army even during a fight (but make sure you micro as well). Upgrades are very important too.

200 APM should be your target APM for “decent” APM. My APM is still a scrubby 100 APM. The SC2 APM is apparently flawed. Multiply your average APM by 1.3 and that should give you a more accurate APM. That’s what I hear, at least.

There will be a collectors edition

Dang so it will cost $60 for the standard and only $40 more for the collector’s edition. If they give you something else besides SC1 on a thumbdrive and a Thor pet for WoW, I would totally get it since those are useless to me. Still $40 for an artbook and a soundtrack ain’t bad. They should give you a beta key if you preorder the game right now.

Actually, you get exclusive avatars, unit decals, and your in game thors look different as well. Still not sure its worth the $40

Anyone know where I can download high level replays? I don’t really like watching youtube video replays…

Your ingame Thors look different you say? Either way $40 for all that is a great deal.

Why make the Thors look different?

Is it just me or is it exceedingly difficult to establish and maintain map presence and control with protoss?

Care to elaborate?

Warp-in is a pretty damn good way to maintain map presence…

That’s what I was thinking too lol.
