Iam sure this has been talked about before, but is anyone else worried sc2 wont live up to sc1?
iam not sure with 3-d polygons they can equal the precise and exact gameplay that made sc1 so good. Also, I heard the lead designer for red alert 3 is doing sc2, which has me worried.
All in all it will be a buyer for sure, but how is it looking so far for sc2? Sc1 is arguably one of the top 10 games of all time.
so far blizzard is keeping the same formula as starcraft, just making it 3d. They want koreans and starcraft hard-core fans to play it, so there trying there hardest to please them. If they didnt care they would have added stuff like hero units in multi-player which would be stupid. Cause that pissed of a lot of people who played WC2
well as far as i know the game is pretty much finished or it has been finished for about 6-8 months now. but all they’re doing now is balance work. blizzard taking 1.5 + years for balance work shows that they’re seriously going to try to top sc1 (dunno if its even possible) but all in all i’ll definately buy it… even if i’m playing sc1 the week after… i mean, i atleast want to know what happen to zeratul and raynor.
Eventhough it’s the same races, there are many new units/structures so SC2, to me, is more like a hybrid between a new game and just another expansion to the original (the 3D doesn’t look that great to me, but I haven’t seen any HQ stuff yet).
It’s too early for disappointment, people need to first play a game before concluding that it sucks.
The last time I was standing this watch, I read all of the units for toss and rran. I hope that the terran nomad is cool shit, because sci vessels really do win you games, especially in non money map games.
I used to play games on bnet all of the time. If you guys play a lot on the east server, I used to make games for players against comps.
I get my ass kicked playing serious one on one =( BUT! Like someone said earlier, I will not hesitate to put down SC2 a week after buying it and go back to the original if it doesn’t make the cut.
They will never please the Koreans(or so-called hardcores).
The first day the game comes out all you will see is “OMG SC1 WAS BETTER!!!111”
Regardless of whether its good or not, blizzard will push the game so much, and it will have so much competitive support, people will play the game anyway whether its as good as SC1 or not.
People can’t help but bitch about change or something new(even if its not bad).
I’m in the middle of a 4 hour MP game of sins right now.
This game is AWESOME.
…but whoever is comparing it to SC is on that crizzack. If you only like SC style of MP, you probably wouldn’t like this at all. It’s nowhere near as fast but it’s just as epic.
It’s more Homeworld, Galatic Civ styled. But more epic. And Star Trek mods imminent!
Sins of the Solar Empire is nothing like Starcraft at all. That and real games last days and more, that’s not even to account for the largest map that could take weeks to finish.
And yes, the Zerg are here! Too bad the Hydralisk got lost in the translation. It’s full glory has not yet been realized.
Truth. I’m not quite sure why the hell people even compared it to Starcraft. While the game is ‘entertaining’, playing a game for over 2 hours is damn tiring.
