:rofl::rofl:

Yeah

This game is going to be hot hot hot. I am going to buy a new laptop for the first time in my life in order to play this game (the laptop I’m using now was given to me four years ago by an opulent friend).

The first few weeks of battle.net StarCraft 2 will be heaven, the golden age if you will. People will be playing new maps and nobody will be cheating.

I fear the day when StarCraft 2 will become an inevitable map-hack and BIG game hunters fest.

Even though I am bitching, I already love StarCraft 2 and it’s not even born yet. I’ve only played five computer games in my life. Warcraft 2, Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Worms Armageddon, and StarCraft.

It’s time for the next generation.

Why buy a laptop? A gaming laptop costs a tad bit more than a gaming PC.
I’d just go buy a PCI with 8600’s SLI’ed with a pretty good 2.8-3.x ghz mobo with 2 gig ram - that’d be cheaper than a gaming laptop.

^ Quote from the article.
Hmm, are we gonna be able to join matches to observe? That actually sounds like a lot of fun.
Damn, it’s too bad they’re not releasing it this year :frowning: …shit, I guess i’ll wait on upgrading my PC…

My current laptop is a Pentium 3, 497mhz, 128mb RAM.

I don’t need a ridiculously overpowered gaming laptop (the games I play are relatively low-maintenance), but I figure that I get a new computer when StarCraft 2 comes out. I can’t even use Dreamweaver & Macromedia Fireworks simultaneously because my computer slows down. I like laptops because I prefer to carry my computer (when I’m travelling, etc.) And it takes up less space in my room.

Anyway, my current laptop has only ONE USB port, the headphone jack doesn’t work anymore, the internal CD-Rom (notice how I don’t have a DVD-rom) doesn’t work, and the mouse attached to the laptop no longer functions. Also the top two rows of keys on the keyboard are sticky because my ex-ex girlfriend dropped soda on my laptop during when I was a junior at university.

StarCraft 2 is coming out. I no longer have any excuse to put up with my disheveled laptop.

It’s possible that they might be referring to tournament style of play, where audiences are spectating off a projector and thus want to make it more enjoyable for the audience.

However, if they do mean “join matches to just observe”, that still sounds like a great idea.

lol, OUCH, man.
I had a really shitty 1.8 ghz PC, so I kinda know how you feel. But once I bought my friend’s old PC, it felt pretty good, but then once I got another new PC(this one i’m using), it feels even better.
I’m hoping that by the time SC2 does come out, Nvidia will lower their prices for the 8800 series, which i’m pretty sure they will, because those 8800’s are pretty nice. If not, then i’ll just get the next best thing, whatever that may be by the time SC2 comes out 20 years from now.

Yeah, I knew that much, but I was referring to them actually doing it in game and not in real life spectating.
It’d be cool to have a feature like that, though. You can do it on Warcraft 3 if you use GGClient, but you’d have to know the match schedules.

i’m in…which name is the private channel???

You can do that already in SC. Just get the right Lost Temple map and your set. Although you can only observe a match that your invited to. If you can observe random maps then that would be real nice.

better not be dota .

You can observe a lot more than LT.

Just go to UMS and look for game names like 1v1 play/obs.

Would love for observing to be much better integrated though.
