StarCraft II Matchmaking Thread

It’s not that bad at all.

Glad I am not the only one who is having trouble with this. Hellions are my worst enemy :*(

Been getting some really great games in with Pimp Willy, Dreaded Fist, and Magnifico. Hit me up guys if you want a game!

Just set yourself to “Busy” and you shouldn’t get any messages

Oh and I rescind my statement Pimp Willy. Apparently 5 of the top 8 of the ESL tournament were Terran players. lolololol

Who in this thread is scrubby or willing to play matches against a newbie? I want to work my way out of bronze and I got no problem taking beatings.

I am very scrubby. Add me and maybe we can play this weekend.

Been trying this map out today and it’s really cool, thanks for sharing. It’s like the equivalent of ak_colt or practicing safe jump timing.

This matchmaking system is really weird. Just made it to diamond tonight and it seems like I’m playing worse players now. Btw PvP matchup is gross and lame.

Im new and willing to play anyone. Need to figure the midgame out better.

Zerg is fun. I was training against the cpu on hard and and starting to understand some things. I still haven got it completely but i think i get the building and harrasing fase. Im using the minerals better each time but now I need to learn the matchups and setups.

Also how do you find out your online id?

Hold your cursor over your portrait in the top right or click the little person icon in the bottom right of the bnet 2 menu.

Also is it better to focus on mudas or hydras first? I imagine that if my opppenent was as good or better than me at building I should make hydras in fear of protons air lazur thing and terrans air attack and thors. But mudas are so good agaisnt standard units and you can just blitz right into their base and harass the hell out of em.

And anyone playing zerg probably already knows but i’ll throw this out there anyway. You can get two extra drones before you get an overlord when reaching your limit by turning them into extractors and canceling it as you are hatching. I use this in the begining and helps speed up the procces

Akki char code 598.
silver toss player

Gotta react to what your opponent does. Be aware though that it is expensive and almost all-in to go mutas before hydras. From a Protoss perspective, if the zerg player doesn’t end the game once he goes mutas, I’m at a huuuuge advantage since his mutas are almost obsolete if I defend the first attack. SC2 is all about scouting and information.

There’s no one way to do it. It will change depeneding on what your opponent is doing. I’m liking mutas more and more vs. zerg/terran for flexibility and against toss that use the robo bay. You gotta do something if besides hydra if your opponent goes colossus.

However…the double extractor trick is actually a slow way to work your economy. Try going 9 Overlord instead if you’re going for a 11+ pool.

Really? I feel Im getting more minerals in the end as long as the timing is right. And by the time the overlord is out i can start on the spawning pool. Thanks for the help btw
Also Im not around my cpu atm but so Ill post my id when i get home.

While Im at it, when do you guys usually find it neccasary to build and evolution chamber and upgrade your units?

Unless you’re planning on making a timing attack with 1/0 speedlings or something it’s usually wise to go evo chamber once you realize you have a very healthy influx of minerals and you don’t have one. It is a very good idea to upgrade your units that you know you’ll be using in the long run.

Fuck ZvT, wish I could trade this shitty game in.
