Going to las vegas, gonna be there in 8 hours so I’ll be away from updating OP for a few days.
Woah woah waoh, i’m not diamond lol, i’m just platinum.
Platinum is fucking retarded, gimmick after wave of stupid gimmick. And all lose to scouting + counter. Reminds me of G1 SF4. I’m not a good player, and I don’t mind losing to players better than me, it helps me learn… but come on, 6 pool into creep colonies in my base? Dude insta-quit when he saw my first muta.
I’ve been usually fast expanding with Zerg doing 14 pool 15 hatch, but I always end up with ridiculous amounts of minerals. I get sidetracked so easily in this game like building some extractors and not cutting some drones to gas. -_- I end up losing a lot of matches because I forget something, even though I try my best to remember.
Top things I forget to do
- Inject larva with queen and / or spread creep tumors. My queen/s will usually have 50-75 energy =( I didn’t think much of creep tumors but I watched some Artosis matches and it looks like it helps out a lot.
- Tech up when I can afford to. Unless I’m trying to go for Hydras or Mutas, I usually dilly dally around with roaches too much and get owned by Banshees. I also forgot Banshees can cloak and had my overseers / lords away from my mineral line on the edge of the cliffs.
- Keep getting supply blocked. Roaches eat up a lot of supply, so when the 4 injected larva do spawn, it says “Build more overlords”
- Continuing to scout.
- Upgrade
I don’t think I have the muscle memory yet. I have to work so often that I only get 1 or 2 matches a day.
i got to platinum using only that lol.
fyi: i play zerg now.
Super scrub strategy that I always use against zerg is rushing with zealots and maybe some stalkers if I have time. I don’t think I’ve ever had a 1v1 against zerg that lasted longer than 12-13 minutes. In fact I only lost to zerg once because I didn’t bother to scout his base and notice he was in anti-rush mode.
Colossi tend to erase hydras off the map. Just make sure you get extended lance and have either units or force fields keeping them from getting too close.
Mutas lose to Stalkers, but they’re a lot more mobile so you might have a hard time keeping them off your mineral line. You can get phoenixes, but if they’re going mutas chances are you can attack move in their base and win. It’s crucial that you scout that spire so you can either preemptively attack or have a bunch of stalkers/PCs protecting your probes.
Thanks. Yeah I like the poking game so that sounds good. Also here is a short video of some funny when low pool works. Of course I would not have done it but my drone showed that the other player didnt even have a spawning pool when my lings already hatched.

And yeah, that shit was really long so i dont expect anyone to watch the whole thing
What does transfuse do? Is that the healing one?
Yeah haha, and your right I shouldnt be lazy about it.
I’m starting to hate TvT mech matchups. The game goes on for so long and I usually lose because I have bad tank placement.
Also, is it possible to get 6 zerglings to my base in scrap station before my first marine gets pumped out? I go 10 supply 12 barrack. I was wondering because I figured scrap station is a long way to the other players base.
Scrap station isn’t that long, sure its quite a distance but it’s not really that much further than cross positions in a lot of 4 player maps. If your opponent 6 pools then you’re in trouble. But then again 6 pool is a very scrubby strategy in that you either win or lose quickly; it’s not bad, it works well against a more standard opening, but you never really see it at high level play.
Basically against Zerg, you always have to kind of scout right off the bat to see if he got a super fast pool (under 10), or play assuming theres a 6 pool coming (get your barracks/Gateway on 10 instead of 12, wall off completely if possible) and give yourself a weaker opening just to be safe.
It’s kind of like how Protoss has 1 safe opening vs Terran, which is 12 gate to Core to Quick stalker, just in case a reaper shows up. Even if your opponent has no intention of making one, you still have to play as if they are unless you are 100% sure from your scout probe they won’t, which is still guesswork because you only can make a call depending on how fast they take their gas, seeing as they can wall off and deny you scouting after the first probe. Then you transition to whatever you want. I’ve had some luck getting exactly 100 gas off 1 assimilator, getting 1 stalker + researching warp gate, then going zealots with all workers on minerals. It lets me put a lot of early aggression with zealots, who do well vs marines/mauraders, and get my just in case stalker for reapers. Might look into getting just enough gas for charge too, but it leaves me extremely vunerable to banshees.
Works well against Zerg too, but of course tweaked a bit.
I still havent had much luck with immortals vs a terran army, since the marines still tear it a new asshole
i only make immortals as Protoss Vs Terran if they make Thors (which i don’t think they be doing in that matchup, but that’s just me). They’re nice against tanks and all but there’s just better answers than investing in immortals.
Yeah transfuse heals.
I remember watching korean vids Zerg vs Terran, I think it was Zergstorm or Yellow teaching people how to play ZvT. He said makes lots of lings till you get some mutas and gards with, im guessing it might work just as well in SC2. Cept you would have to go brood lords
The thor cannon shot kills immortals outright, so any sensible terran would grab that upgrade and annhilate the immortals. At least they have to upgrade it now : (
Is there anyway to fuckin beat Thors as Zerg? Ive tried everything and they all just melted my units. Cant even use Broodlings because i just found out that Thors have about the same fuckin range as them. What kind of shit is this? I cant even win a game on gold league because Blizzard decided to give Terran players so many goddam options. Im gonna stop playing this game until Blizzard gets their shit together.
Protoss is almost as bad with those stupid Colossus but i forgive them because theyre a bit easier to counter.
Yeah, im mad.
Get Infestors with Neural Parasite and turn the Thors on their army. Works like magic, but takes more micro than attack moving your army in.
I had some Infestors and took control of them for like a second. His Banshees came and said wassup. I was seriously out of options and was running dry on resources. Whenever I tried to expand outside of my natural he would send his shitty Thors to take em out.
Sounds like you got outplayed, post up the replay so we can see what happened.
It sounds like you tried to go even bases vs a terran and didn’t win, zerg needs to have more bases than their opponent late game or they’re in serious trouble usually
ive take out thors with broodlords. Havent tried Ultras yet. thors are slow and cant take on too many lings also
I cant seem to find the match I was talkin about but did find another one where this guy had a disturbingly similar playstyle. I didnt get to make Infestors this match because i seem to have horrible experience with them. Maybe i shouldve made them for this match but i dont know ill let you guys judge. I know im not good but im not horrible either.
