sorry pfh lake, you are right, void rays are totally OP, pls dont stab me
in other news, i feel like if i look away from my army for a few seconds to do other stuff and i get attacked, i lose the entire game because i cant get my force fields up in time
So GSL was discounted to $10 a season now. However, the VODs will have ads. So why do I have to pay to have ads shown to me? We were told it was either ads or payment, now it’s both? Really gonna have to think if its worth buying it this time around just on principle.
My Starcraft 2 Spectre mouse came in the mail today. Haha, yeah I know it doesn’t make you any better but I needed a new mouse so I figured might as well go with the SC2 version. Feels nice.
Does anyone else feel like force field is a ‘duct tape’ spell? What I mean is it seems to hold a lot of the Protoss play together. Everything is about 5 million times riskier without sentries. It seems like you could buff a lot of the protoss units outright as long as you nerfed that one ability. I don’t mind it, and in fact love watching good FF play, but sometimes I get curious as to how strong it ‘should be’.
agree 100% the gateway units are basically balanced around FF.
if gateway units are too strong toss are OP because force field cuts off significant portions of their armies and prevents enemy concaves. so they had to balance it by making stalkers the shitty units that they are today.
I need to start doing this more (third hatcher on two bases).
As zerg, i’m finding it hard to dominate a game in my 2v2 matches. I’m always depending on my partner to seal the deal. I’m just now that good w/ zerg… and the more i play them, the more I realize just how hard zerg is.
and I have issues saturating a base while fielding an army… wtf. these little nuances to playing zerg. like having more queens than you have hatcheries.
Yeah, I feel as if a z player has to mass his army, but you also need a strong econ to support that army. so, what do you do? mass your econ first? that puts you in a vulnerable position. sometimes i wish that i didn’t have to build my army from the same structure i build my workers. :arazz:
Massing econ first is the mindset a Zerg NEEDS to have against P or T unless you’re trying to cheese. With enough practice, you’ll learn all the timing attacks from the other races, and what you need to defend against them. 90% of my matches I try to squeeze out as many drones as I can while defending with as little as possible, giving me the late game advantage. Broodwar taught me that mindset, and it still applies in SC2.
The best way to win 2v2 games is a combined timing attack at the 5:30-6:00 mark almost every time. All of the good strats for 2v2 I know of involve that timing attack. The units you employ for the rush (roaches/lins/banes) depends on both your team mate and your enemies. For instance, if you have a protoss team mate it’s best to use speedlings because they can protect probes while they put up proxy pylons outside of opponents’ bases. With the assist of an overlord right above them + lings on the ground you can lend both vision into the enemy base allowing great warp ins as well as stop your enemies from putting too much of a damper on your plans.
You don’t always win outright with the timing attack, but two players hitting at the 6 minute mark together is basically guaranteed to do enough damage to be worth it.
