The CG Clone Wars series is very good, as is Rebels.
CG Clone Wars also had eps that focused entirely on the clone troops and just how badass they are to be fighting with traditional war tactics and strategy against robots and fucking magical space samurai.
I never got around to watching the cgi Clone Wars cartoon. I liked the the one talked about earlier, and i did watch the first season of Rebels and thought it was good.
I didnât get to watch much of Clone Wars CGI due to the fact that when I watched the main character was a 6 year old girl, who of course was pretty much invincible. That kinda killed it for me. I was having Episode 1 kid Anakin flashbacks.
Maybe Iâll get back to it one day, since so far SRK hasnât disappointed me with their opinions of whatâs good and whatâs not.
I just want Admiral Thrawn back, about it really. Rogue Squadron stuff and Shadows of the Empire maybe.
Rest of the extended universe is meh or inconsequential. I mostly checked out when the Yuuzhan Vong showed up and the new galactic civil war with the Jedi came around.
Still hype for this film. Now give me a new X-Wing/TIE Fighter game.
shadows of the empire essentially ended my dadâs video game playing habit. i remember watching him, as a 7 or 8 year old, have a near panic attack when he was supposed to fight the AT-ST at the end of the second level. Iâve barely been able to get him to watch me play, let alone play himself, an âactionâ game since.
what are some essential EU stuff for me to read/watch? I read a lot of the jediâs apprentice books when I was younger. I know there are cartoons that are good.
help me, srk. youâre my⌠well youâre not my only hope since google and the rest of the internet exist but I trust most of your guysâ tastes in stuff.
The darth Bane trilogy
Thrawn trilogy
Hand of Thrawn
The Old Republic: Deceived (liked this one)
The Old Republic: Revan (liked this one too)
You can try those, but itâll help if you give an era you want to read, or if you donât know era, just give a general time frame like before A new hope, or after RotJ, or in between.
Shit ton of books, and a lot of them are trilogy or more wise.
X-Wing Rogue Squadron, Wedgeâs Gamble, The Krytos Trap, and The Bacta War.
First four books in the X-Wing line that tell one strong narrative. If that gets you hooked there is plenty more. Wedge, Tycho, Wes and friends do crazy shit and unravel a big plot as the Rebels attempt to take over Coruscant.
Labyrinth of Evil.
Revenge of the Sith novel (its good).
Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader.
Collectively the Vader/Dark Lord trilogy dubbed by fans. Better written understanding of how Anakin became Vader and his descent, super good read.
Star Wars: Tarkin.
Book about how much of a boss Grand Moff Tarkin is. Shows his lineage and descent into his beliefs. Force through Power, not through the Force.
Marvelâs Darth Vader (2015), Dark Horseâs Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison.
More good Vader stuff but in comic form. Ghost prison deals with a terrorist attack that wounds the emperor, Vader has to solve that shit and figure out how to heal up the Emperor.
New ongoing has Vader doing his own plans and trying to figure out what the Emperor is up to, even has his own agents and army. He gets super salty a lot and tears people up.
Blood Ties: Jango and Boba Fett.
Comic where a bounty Jango deals with in the past becomes a problem for Boba in the future while working a similar scenario. Also shows their relationship and how Boba was trained. Iâm a Boba mark so this is relatively new and good.
Shadows of the Empire novel.
Super fun read, shows off the drama between Vader and Xizor and gives Dash mothafuckinâ Rendar the spotlight as Mr. Plot hole filler for the SW universe. I was a big mark for that 90s Shadows push and had it all: toys, game, kids novel, not kids novel. Even had the Outrunner to go along with my A-Wing.
Dash isnât as played out in the novel as the game, basically each media dealt heavily with different things but he is around and is a dick in the best way possible.
I also like to recommend when Boba Fett and Darth Vader fight for a Mcguffin over a Volcano but hardly anyone agrees with me on that bit of awesome.
I am skipping that game. I played the Demo (a beta 1 month before release is a demo). Itâs a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig departure from what the last Battlefront game was. Looks fantastic, but itâs an extremely watered down version of the game it was. I guess thatâs why they didnât continue the numbers in going from 2 to 3.
