TLJ wasnt bad. it just wasnt ESB ver. 2.0 like everyone wanted it to be.
TLJ isnāt bad but it annoyed me like Iron Man 3. I still donāt care about Rey.
Darth with double light saber returns in Episode 9⦠lolā¦
The only thing I liked about TLJ was the end credits because it was finally over. I was tempted to walk out so many times. I fucking hated it.
I had to watch TLJ for the Christmas Party @ the theaters⦠So I couldnāt leaveā¦
TLJ wasnāt bad that isnāt a strong enough word. Itās atrocious. To give you an idea of how shitty TLJ is. People that absolutely hated the prequels have changed their minds about them after seeing that abomination. People didnāt want Empire 2.0. That wanted a good movie. One written by someone that actually paid attention to the previous entry.
TLJ a horribly written film that doesnāt hold up to basic scrutiny. To top it off, it just flat out ruined some characters. Poe, Finn, and Hucks got the 3rd Strike Sean treatment. Poe went from heroic pilot to fuck up. Finnās character arc is the exact same as it was in TFA. His journey from fearful to courageous got thrown out the window. Hux was a menacing and calculated foil to Kylo Ren and in TLJ he was fucking comic relief. Rey has no formal training two films in and is pulling off feats like sheās been training for ten years. Even āForce Jesusā Anakin got bodied by Dooku after a decade of training and he had Obi Wan fighitng beside him.
Dumbass Johnson didnāt realize that Rey and Poe already met in the TFA novelation. A book that is supposed to be canonā¦
The best thing that TLJ did was toss away JJ Abrams mysteries. If Abrams didnāt want to develop the mysteries himself he shouldnāt have pass it on to other writers.
That was Disneyās dumbass idea. Not a big JJ fan, he excels at the setup and fails on the follow through, but they wanted three different director/writers for each movie. The reason Trevorrow quit is because Johnson killed Luke. He wanted him alive for his Episode IX script. Disney should have picked one director and writing team for the entire trilogy. Three different people developing a cohesive trilogy is a near impossibility. I mean you can get away with three different directors but you need have the same writer for the entirety of the story. Changing the lead writer causes too many issues.
pretty much this^
They can bring Luke backā¦
There was no body when he ādiedāā¦
They can say that Luke faked the whole 1 with the force thing to trick the Sithā¦
Disney moles & Mark Hamill⦠if you read this⦠you know what to doā¦
Coming from someone that isnāt even remotely a Star Wars fan anymore this would be the single stupidest thing they could ever do.
Aside from the Hitler moment on the Star Killer base when did Hux ever show himself to be more then a stuck up lacky in the Force Awakens?
While Kylo Ren was acting like a petulant child, Hux was the reliable subordinate to Snoke. Kylo was throwing tantrums. Hux was actually commanding the First Order. In theory, Kylo was the more dangerous of the two based on ability. Hux was more dangerous in a practical sense. He wasnāt ruled by his emotions or a drive to be the next Vader. Hux and Kylo were rivals for Snokeās attention. Snoke used this to his and The First Orders benefit. In TLJ they turned him into Curly from The Three Stooges.
My interpretation was he and Kyle were of the same immature breed.
While Kylo is prone to destructive tantrums on property Hux turns his tantrums towards the enemy. Sure he knows more about proper military protocols but as you mentioned he like Kylo was trying to prove himself to Snoke and the more scientific and military aspects of the First Order as his sword and shield like Kylo used the Force. He was always Curly but he was given the time to show it besides acting jealous in the first film. It will be interesting to see where he winds up now in the new status quo if handled right.
Year of hell of hell for Star Wars?
The Kathleen Kennedy hate train cracks me up. This woman is one of the best film producers of the last 40 years. She has produced a lot of the most iconic films in pop culture from the early 80s through the present. Her name has been attached to many, many, many major franchises from the 80s and 90s long before she was ever in charge of Lucasfilm. The fact that people want to solely blame her for everything they hate about Disney era star wars is just ridiculous to me.
Rian Johnson gets his share of hate too.
When you are in charge and are personally responsible for hiring the writer/director of the worst Star Wars movie created thus far, you are going to get a lot of shit. Pass success doesnāt excuse current failure.
TLJ was a critical and financial success though. Lol
