Star Wars

I’m pretty stoked about the Han Solo movie.

Do you work at Disney ? Lol

Not even close, I just like Star Wars.

Then dont? You can have a Star Wars:_______ or ________ A Star Wars Tale or a Star Wars: Legacy of the Jedi/Sith. You dont need to continue the story of the previous movies since everything that happened or needed to happen with it DID happen. And they were obviously wanting to do something different with it, and i dont mind that (as long as its written well and Garreth Edwards is never allowed to be near an actor again), I just want it to be GOOD. Thats all.

Based on all the marketing revenue from toys and whatnot on the prequels, they certainly don’t need it. This movie had so many opportunities to be great and it just instead defaulted to childish humor, goofy luck filled action, and durrrrr rebels good empire bad. It makes for a bad movie but good for toy sales.

Oh dear…

When’s #NotMyLukeSkywalker? The responses to Hammill’s tweet though :coffee: The smarks are going for Hammill’s head in 3…2…

Wow. Disney pulled the choke chain on Hamill?! Fuck those pieces of shit.

sigh It’s not even worth giving an opinion at this point. There’s no winning. I’m glad I’m just sitting here, watching everything unfold.

If its meant to be fake (cause its Twitter) then “haha” you got me. if not, its pretty fucking stupid.

Star Wars is going to make money regardless. Watch a Star Wars celebration sometime; it’s like a Jim Jones rally. But I find it hard to believe that TFA would have made quite as much money without the hype of the OT cast reprising their roles.

Where’s the misunderstanding? Hamill voices his dissatisfaction with the direction of the new movies in multiple interviews for promotion of both films, then he all the sudden does an about face, and you really think he’s being sincere and it’s not Disney pulling a Fat Tony?

With millions of dollars on the line I wouldn’t put it past Disney to sue him for damages if he continued to speak candidly especially with all the fan backlash.

So let’s think about this:
[] Mark Hamill voices his creative differences
[
] Continues to make that claim throughout the project
[] Finishes the project and states “Hey I wasn’t cool with the direction but Rian did well”
[
] Interview released that sums up the previous point
[] https://twitter.com/StupendousWave/status/945409809150500865
[
] Tweets about that point post movie’s release
[] Internet runs wild with only half of the information
[
] Tweets the issue in item 3 with more words
I think this is genuine. Besides, he goes in on stupid fans and politicians all the time. He doesn’t seem to be the one to sell out, especially given his opinion all the way through the process.

That being said, he will be jokingly quiet about his feelings on the next one.

It was inevitable.

Haha the mouse got to Hamill… you don’t fuck with the mouse.

Rememer the droid that knew how to kill Jedi? one of the options was attack their minds instead of direct damage, hurt the ones around them, etc.

So yeah, a failure makes them vulnerable.

The smarks can’t be stopped. :coffee:

just wow.

it’s been a good number of pages and this circle jerk of a “discussion” is still raging on…
the movie wasn’t the best for some of you but y’all still went and saw it, pfft.

Shit movie.

Where is my Capt. Phasma solo movie? With Kim K. as Phasma.

I don’t even think it is that. He probably saw how all these people were echoing his dissatisfaction with his role and putting it on the whole movie, which I don’t think he really wanted. Also someone pointed out this movie doing bad would hurt his own wallet with less opportunity for residuals and potential incentives that were part of his contract.

But when Hamill says he regrets adding fuel to the fire, I honestly believe him when he says that. It is still a good movie and despite people saying it ruins the franchise… it really doesn’t do anything that hasn’t been done before besides clearly trying to distance itself from the original trilogy in tone.

Besides calling out the corrupt nature of war profiteering, Leia being able to pull a Farscape/Guardians of the Galaxy and survive being thrown out in space without protective gear and still survive via force powers plus the astral projection trick at the end.

But everything else, from the failed plans, bad communication between comrades, wonky space physics, betrayals, fast paced chase scenes, humor at inappropriate times, etc all that was within previous movies, games and shows long before this one.
