Most plot lines are close. Half assed and poorly thought out, but closed. And thatâs a problem for a story that is supposed to be large enough to fit 3 parts. It really canât anymore or have much of an impact. Think about it, what other than how can the good guys win, is there left to explore?

Iâm trying to figure out how they got Marvel sitting RIGHT THERE with the blueprint, and they didnât try to create an overarching narrative plan for these films⌠Instead they decide to let each film be created and directed totally independent of the others.
That makes no sense when youâre planning a trilogy.
btw, how well is this movie doing at the box office?
i only ask cuz disney gave rian johnson 3 other star wars films to make. makes me wonder why disney has such a hard on for this director.
I donât think committee is the issue. There is no beginning, middle, or end in sight. The decisions made seem to be based on how well something is responded to and not how to assemble a saga together.
Story Team - Reintroduce characters, play it safe; Fans like ANH, lets do a victory lap but add in some âmystery boxesâ and lens flare
Fans post release - Good but too similar to ANH; so many theories!
Story Team - Well, that worked, but lets make sure it doesnât retread anything, and close all those mystery shits; occasionally make a hard left with character motivations
Fans Post Release - Reaction ranges from âWorse than TPMâ to âGREATEST SW MOVIE EVER!â
Story Team - UNLEASH THE ABRAMS - Episode IX will be ROTJ v1.53; Retcon everything that the fans didnât like and add some more Death Star with that.
Disney is going to destroy (if not impair) this franchise like it or not. The movies are made with no real vision. They should have left Lucas on as a story consultant.
I did enjoy the Last Jedi, but I agree with @âpo pimpusâ, unless something miraculous happens.
EDIT
Exactly. Watch TPMs special features. Itâs clear that everyone told him yes in the development process since they knew itâd basically print money and itâs George Lucas . . . . at the time he could do no wrong . . . . . .
Itâs needed. Walking out of TLJ I couldnât help but think about what IX will be about and how the audience will remain engaged with this saga. More importantly, how this trilogy will be looked at in comparison to the OT and the prequels.
