No. I preferred the implied backstory rather than actually seeing it.
It’s one of those things where it’s a “Yes I want more of it…but I’m pretty content with not knowing the backstory and making up my own headcanon/theories” sort of thing
It was a good concept, but why tell the story the story before the one you just told. Never made sense. Besides, if anyone watched the prequels before the other movies, certain scenes in the original trilogy just wont carry the same weight.
So, I know the EU is non-canon now, but does that include Shadows of the Empire? Wasn’t that one officially sanctioned by Lucas himself?

I think the lightsaber is dope. Pretty hype for the new movie and glad the new characters were the focal point and not the old ones (although I wouldn’t mind seeing old Han solo)

I’m not a dress up as Chewbacca gto darth vader tatted on me kind of fan but I feel the prequels were necessary, for basically the reason I stated earlier they were meant to appeal to a younger generation, where 4,5,6 were meant for teens to young adults 1,2,3 were meant for a range of people from a 10 year old up to someone in their 50’s. Just like the originals, the new trilogy also helped push special effects and ultimately computer graphics in new ways that have benefitted us ever since.
