Yes…say it!

People were mad that in a galaxy there was a black stormtrooper.

I also agree that he had the best possible setup in the franchise and was completely wasted. Finn honestly should have been the protagonist for all of it.

Eh…I dont think the ball was dropped on Finn because he was black. Dont think they expected Finn to be well received. They were rushing things and that lead to them mishandling everything.

Agreed. That’s why I am more on the line with agreement that they didn’t know what to do with him not necessarily because he was black.

However, remember when that first trailer dropped. Sodium levels were off the charts because a stormtrooper was black despite the entire basis of the clone army wasn’t white.

The funny thing about all the bitching was that the Empire hadn’t used Clones as Stormtroopers for over 30+ years at that point lol.

EXACTLY!

That shit had me perpetually confused.

The ball was dropped because they had no plan. JJ’s ideas and RJ were not in line. JJ clearly was going for a traditional take on the franchise and Rian Johnson wanted to do his own thing. This was the resson for Trevorrow’s departure. RJ’s ideas conflicted with his original plans. And Kennedy didn’t like his revised script. There should have been an outline for the trilogy with hard point events that needed to occur in each part. That way each director would have a guideline for the story and character arcs. Winging a trilogy is the epitome of stupidity.

I thought it was already said that JJ had some loose plan and RJ tossed it out. KK was fine with just RJ doing his own thing. Everyone botched the sequel trilogy.

That was the rumor and it seemed to be supported by an interview Daisy Ridley had when TLJ was filming IIRC She basically said Rian’s story was different than JJ’s.

Yea everyone in a management position deffinitly fucked up for sure lol. The fact they wouldn’t even commit to what they did is some nonsense.

That’s a hallmark of Kennedy’s leadership. The massive box office of The Force Awakens gave her cover for the frankly awful job she’s done. I think The Last Jedi was the only movie made under her watch that didn’t have her clashing with and/or replacing the director.

All because they had no respect for the fanbase…but fans can take an L too for other reasons.

The fans shitting on Lucas gave us the current Lucasfilm.

JJ has a loose plan for all of his stories and in pretty much every case the final outcome is some ol’ bullshit.

RJs movie is a different take on the saga (which personally should have been the way to kick it off). Lorde and Miller’s take on Solo would have been less “serious”. Gareth Edwards would have made Rogue One a more gritty war movie. Colin Trevarrow left due to the difference of direction. You have to wonder where the disconnect was.

Compare this to The Mandalorian which is pretty much a serviceable show that’s universally praised. I can guarantee that if the lead was Boba Fett, SW fans would have rage quit because canon somehow invalidates it.

Lucas even said it himself that there were rules that were imposed on the franchise that wouldn’t allow him to experiment. This is why we got TFA and expectations were shattered in the subsequent film.

I mean, some of the fans’ shitting on Lucas was warranted after the prequels.

They are just plain bad.

Until he says which rules stopped him from being creative, thats a load of horse shit.

Putting restrictions is onw of the best ways to get creative juices floating. So either the rules are trash or he was about to make some insane nonsense that the rules were designed to stop from happening.

True… But Lucas was throwing shit first with many of his decisions.

The diminishing returns of the Indiana Jones franchise speaks for itself.
