Star Wars Thread

Shit we have been seeing the expansion of multi verse concepts for the last few years in many long running franchises. I mean in video games alone you many have had either dimension hopping non canon or straight up canon games for years. Add in the popularity of stuff like Into the Spider Verse…

I’m still mad at Gerard Way for being such a good comic book writer. Lol. I hate him as a lyricist.

The trilogy should have been about finn

He could wield a lightsabre but was a grunt storm trooper

How was he connected to the force? Fuck make finn the main in the next disney star wars series

Honestly, it could have been the entire Dark Forces Trilogy. Finn would have been a race swapped Kyle Katarn. Instant classic.

i got more hope with a disney+ series helmed by somebody like coogler or jordan peele

Boyega already said they “ain’t gonna Disney+ him”

fuck do finn a star wars story

Give him the purple lightsabre let dude cook

Oh shit

Finn, give him ryan coogler or peele, give him a big ass samoan sidekick who is also a mando…give him somebody like… fuck i was going to say lupita as his love interest. Make it finn going out and being a hero trying to wipe out first order on planets people don,'t give a shit about

Make mahershala ali his dad.

Key And Peele as 2 first order henches hunting him down similar to fargo.

Shit let’s set this in cloud city

Rian Johnson opinion of the prequel movies.

He sounds a bit bitter.

He’s right tho.

That’s the finest of takes I’ve seen on the prequels.

Lucas always said the movies were for kids, we saw the tragic fall of a hero, and the prequels (if not Star Wars in general) have been the benchmark of the special effects industry. I’m more impressed that he made three points in a single tweet.

Right…so what did he think he was going to do with one movie? Make all those kids who grew up come to some kind of epiphany about Star Wars? I still say he sounds bitter cause the core base of fans rejected his vision which different wasn’t any better than the prequel movies.

Look I LOVE Star Wars since day one as a kid but I’m not naive to think it’s something profound and deep. It is what it is. The main story is decent (predictable) but what makes me love the world is that very thing. The world. I love the aesthetics. Prequels weren’t as bad as I thought after re-watching his whole thing but it’s not like any of the movies had some kind of deep plot. I bet no one would have cared if they let him do a standalone film in Star Wars like Solo or Rogue One.

It would have been better if he didn’t make it sound like a backhanded compliment

Well dude does behave like petulant prick on Twitter. So I’m not surprised.

I don’t think he meant it as a backhanded compliment. Lucas has said his movies were for kids on interviews.

Problem is the inability to communicate tone in writing. It leaves certain things up for interpretation.

Then stop @ing him about it.

Seemed like a perfectly fine response to me. People are going to hear the tone they want to hear.

I think it also has to do with his attitude before during and after Ep8 came out. That’s why I interpreted it the way I did. It’s Rian’s opinion and he’s fine to have it. I never said he was wrong.
