Wouldn’t it be the other way around? The hero’s journey dates way back which is what shonen protagonists are mostly based on. Not to nitpick but…
I dunno heros journey always seemed like a gradual process whereas Shonen is leaps and bounds of magically finding out they have crazy special gifts and seemingly controlling it way better than they should. At least when I read Greek tales it didn’t read the same way for me.

I can watch Resistance but it doesn’t look as interesting as Clone Wars or Rebels. I’m waiting on season 7 of Clone Wars to finish so I can watch it.
I’ve been marathoning a rewatch of clone wars cartoon,the mandalorian rewatch,started rebels and recently got into building Lego star wars sets.
The looks I get strolling out Walmart with a bag full of Legos while people are fighting over tp is hilarious.

Resistance is very much kid Star Wars meets space station show like Deep Space 9 or Babylon 5, except with a much lower stakes myth arc pushing it. It is nothing like Rebels or Clone Wars in tone save brief moments of realness that creeps in. My opinion, though I gave up on it early in the first season and popped back in for episodes at the start of the second so maybe they save the best stuff for the back half of seasons but the episodes leading to that… good luck if you take the plunge.
