Star Wars Thread

There’s 50 or so movies that made over a billion and you’re trying to make it look like a negative. Fucking lol.

From bomb, to flop, then barely getting past a billion. Holy shit that has me in tears.

Nice try attempting to lump this one up with all your average flicks released out there. No sir. This wasn’t your average theatrical release. It was the 3rd and Final entry in Disney’s “Epic” Sequel trilogy!

For them? Barely scratching to 1 billion is LOW and pathetic.

This along with the equally pathetic toyline, merch, and theme park sales. It’s no wonder Bob Iger is out on his arse.

I’m waiting to see what happened. It didn’t seem like something that was planned and they replaced him with the dude that has cost cut the parks into a lull. Something had to happen from behind the scenes. Seems like his getting ta more severe version of KK treatment. At least with KK, she still has the public appearance of being in charge. Iger doesn’t. Based on what I’ve heard about the recent investor calls, they were really grilling him recently. They aren’t happy with the amount of debt the company has.

First it was gonna bomb and not make 500k. Peeps swore up and down the bad will from TLJ spelled the end. Then it wouldn’t pass 800k, then 1b. All while YouTube assured me it was the worst movie ever and everyone hated it. Movie made bank hand over fist.

Got damn y’all some scurrying mother fuckers. Keep moving that goalpost. Y’all confirmed you’re the hating ass minority. :joy:

Watching the clone Wars with the wife.
So uh…

Summary

Ventress and Obi-Wan totally bang at some point, right? That tension can be cut with a knife

Sometimes…tension really does just mean they fucking hate each other.

Iger is staying on with Disney as executive chairman, he just leaving the CEO position.
He still has tons of power in Disney as he the head of the board of trustees.

It’s like he getting a job promotion with none of the responsibilities. He does not even need a salary anymore, he can just sit on his shares of Disney stock, and let the stock ownership pay him on the regular.

Also

Last year, Iger said he planned to step down in 2021. He had previously set a target departure date of 2018, but in March 2017, his contract was extended to July 2, 2019. That December it was extended again through the end of 2021.

He was already supposed to set down long ago, but Disney extended his contract Twice.
If anything that speaks to his ability to lead.

Then why was his salary cut prior to this? Not trying to be difficult, its an honest question.

He himself opted to get paid less, and even turned down a 5m bonus. This is also the back end of that media frenzy about excessive CEO pay.

Dude was going to retire, but Disney wanted him to stay on longer. He’s been had a foot halfway out the door(he’s now leaving in 2021).

Way weird conclusions being drawn bout his pay.

Dude said Iger is out on his ass, but he still manages to be the 2nd highest paid exec at Disney.

My fucking sides man. Dudes make up their own head canon bout everything. :joy:

Edit: scratch that, he is the highest paid Disney ceo lol

Honestly the dude doesn’t even need the pay, he sitting rich on Disney stock.
But its what Eskills said, he voluntarily took a pay cut

Yeah you also got to look at it from a financial view. While certain policies have come along to favor the rich and most mega corps, as an individual unless you are into shady practices the more money you make the more you have to pay for taxes. Sometimes it is better to get a direct pay cut while other sources of income like dividends bring in the funds for you.

And sometimes, especially if you trying to make a statement about fiscal responsibility for your company by taking a direct pay cut.

When Steve Jobs came back to be the CEO of Apple the 2nd time around to pull teh company from Bankruptcy, his salary was only $1 a year so he could be legally considered an employee of the company (if he could he would take zero pay). His Salary means nothing to him as he already has a ton of stock paying him dividends. He also had a seat on the Disney board of trustees as when Disney purchased Pixar, it converted alot of Job’s Pixar stock into Disney stock.
