So I just got to the part in clone wars where Savage finds Maul.
Im so confused on how he lived. It’s also weird how he’s going through PTSD induced amnesia. Though being cut in half, somehow surviving and being abandoned by your master would do that I suppose.
His Mister Tumnus legs are funny as fuck to me though.
Edit: the extremely brief and combed over explanation of how maul survived is straight up bullshit. Lol
Edit II Turbo: Fuck. I like Savage and Maul are just going around murking Jedi.
It’s really no different then how JJ brought back the emperor In Rise of Skywalker. I let it pass since Clone Wars and Rebels turned Maul into a great character.
Probably. I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’m at the arc where Ahsoka, Kenobi and Anakin are on the Droid Occupied planet trying to help the rebels overthrow the government.
Still though. Maul’s explanation of how he survived made me immediately think of this
You’re on season five. The show pulled one out of their ass to bring Maul back but what they do with him is worth the ass pull. His episodes are among of best ones of the series imo. Right up there with Ahsoka character arc episodes and ones that focus on the clone troopers.
Lucas said his biggest regret from Episode I was killing Maul. He used Clone Wars to basically undo the mistake. Maul basically pulled a Darth Sion on a lesser scale.
Hondo the Space Pirate is one of the best things about the Clone Wars show, imo. Dude is too funny. His on-going love/hate bromance with Obi-wan is kinda the best.
Also, Saw Gerrera being known as an extremist cunt in Rogue One makes much more sense now after watching the The Onderon Civil War arc.
Edit: shiiiiiit. I didn’t know Jim Cummings voiced Hondo.
Aw shit. The Death Watch just found Maul and Savage
Also, I love that the Black Sun syndicate are Still canon. As someone who’s first experience with Star Wars was the Shadow of the Empire comics them being in the clone wars is very pleasant surprise.
How long does it take to get good? I watched the first episode and was incredibly underwhelmed. I know that’s a tiny sample pool, but if it’s more than a season, I’m out
So if I’m understanding everything right Kenobi indirectly causing the Republic Occupation of Mandalore (which later caused The Purge) is craaaaaaazy. That’s a hell of a revelation.
