actually with a air net arrow you can do the same s.h > net arrow loop, but can now do it 10 times and since you can get a dash in between each net arrow then you can easily get into position for a reset, hawkeye prefers opponents to be in the air (ice arrow ground bounces, net arrow has deadpools bolo properties, dp specials, opponents can’t block during air dash, opponents hypers are limited ,etc)

On another note, for all the benefits I see out of the net arrow loop, one thing has me concerned. This combo seems very character dependent. Characters like sentinel, tron, dormammu, not sure who else yet, have a lot harder time doing the combo on. I’m thinking that it is the way they react to being hit where they are too far away and those extremely few frames are making it miss. If someone can do more testing that would be great.

One last thing. I’ve discovered something strange with this same combo. You can do this combo from a grounded foward throw, the strange thing is I am still able to get 10 reps of the combo as if there was no difference from just doing net arrow in the air no throw. We still get the damage reduction though.

grounded: s.H> net arrow (x3) > s.H > Piercing shot > gimlet 481,400-493,100(depending on if gimlet hits before piercing shot, almost impossible to time so far)
air: s.H > net arrow (x10) > s.H > Piercing shot> gimlet 550,900
thrown: s.H > net arrow (x10) > s.H > Piercing shot > gimlet 368,700

Hey everyone, i’m a long time lurker and first time poster and I must say Hawkeye is becoming one of my favorites from the new cast. One thing I’m working on right now is kinda interesting. I think I have a Reset in the corner using the “Greyhound” arrow (Dead Arrow), and I don’t believe anyone has mentioned it.

I’m doing - s.L, s.M, slide, launch, sj, MMHS, trick shot L, assist (Frank west Shopping cart or as I call it “new tatsu”). As soon as, Frank is done and an attempt to tech is coming, jump and do greyhound (QCF + M). They will get caught and slam right down to the ground for a bounce and you can combo again.

It isn’t perfect and can be blocked (it’s difficult because it’s pretty quick with good timing), but it’s pretty dirty if they haven’t seen it before.

that specifically has me concerned. If you want to do a reset you really want to do something that is not a 100% chance of them punishing if they block it. QCF m which is easier understood as net arrow( at least for me) has a lot of recovery and thats on hit even. If you want to do a reset you really want options.

For example after you call frank’s assist back dash exploding arrow which is dp L to qcb h for jump foward cross up to poison arrow. Or slide then cancel to a qcb of your choice to try and confuse the opponent with any of the arrows either l or h. Theres probably a lot more options but net arrow just has too much recovery and you have no options at that point, and opponents should not be trying to attack as soon as they tech.

I’m getting ideas that Hawkeye may be able to follow-up an OTG with an air net arrow somehow. Hitting with any net loop raw is something that people will fall for a few times before they get wise to it, so finding some way to combo into it could be extremely helpful, although that said the size of the combo required could impede on the number of reps you get out of the resulting net loop.

Edit: Also FAO people having issues with his corner combos. I’ve just noticed that in addition to the backwards air control and back-dash into trick shot there is a third option if you’re going for a poison arrow OTG. Do it really really quickly. Poison arrow seems to come out fast enough that it’ll hit them at the top of the little mini-bounce that occurs after spiking them with S.

Double Edit: Also Regarding the net arrow loop. If you hit with Triple Piercing you can link Greyhound or s.H onto a hit of it, so there’s one way of entering net arrow loop. N.B. this was tested on grounded, not sure how an aerial hit of triple piercing it going to work.

Slight variation of the BnB day 1 combo. Does 514,900 damage (no assists).

M, Forward H(one hit), trickshot L->ice arrow, M, Slide, S, SJ, MMHS. Land, trickshot L or H (depending on position) -> ice arrow, slide . SJ MMHS land Trickshot H (or L) into posion arrow Gimlet.

Just tested it out after an otg. For some reason after a ground bounce I can only get at most 2 reps of the loop before they flip out before even hitting the ground the 3rd time. note that I only tried it with freeze arrow.

edit: also tried a lot of different setups during combos, trying to combo into it, all came back negative.

The things I tried

  1. bnb combo but instead of j.S use net arrow= flip out no ground bounce never reached he floor.
  2. tried launcher to jump cancel dp specials to net arrow= flip out too early to even use net arrow
  3. launcher jump cancel super scatter shot to net arrow = flip out before hits ground

Thats all i can remember not sure if I tried more yet. It seems like we have to rely on throws assists and opponents air dashing because the grounded version I agree is not ideal. But really hawkeye is a keepaway character and to say that eventually his arrows won’t work says a lot about him and i’m not sure if I can agree with that

edit: The more I experiment with freeze shot and net arrow the more glitchy they seem. I’ve found a way to incorporate the net loop into the day 1 bnb although limited but seemingly very specific with the hit stun on it.

slide > S > sj back > mmhs > trick shot l > m > s.H > net arrow > s.H > net arrow > slide > sj back > mmhs > trick shot l > l > gimlet 537,800 damage

Now the thing about this combo, if you try to do m > f.h > trick shot l > m > m > slide > s it is impossible to get the 2nd net arrow loop to connect and the resulting damage is less then the previous combo due to damage scaling. I’ve tried incorporating the f.m otg to slide for a third relaunch but from what i’ve seen it does even less damage.

Now onto the glitchy part of it. From numerous attempts at the combo after doing freeing shot to net arrow ive had storm, dormammu, and wesker flip out instantly after the otg of the ice arrow,after the s.H, sometimes instantly after the net arrow, after the 2nd s.h, after the 2nd net arrow. The only thing that seems can make sense of it is when the s.H hits after the ice arrows otgs. So if somone can try to make sense of it that would be great.

so well. with hawkeye (a)/ x23(a)/ doom(hidden missiles) can kill strider with 1 combo.

slide+call x, qcb+l,l, slide, s, sj mmhs, (backdash depends on screen) qcb+h, m, d+h+hidden missiles, s, sj mmhs, qcb+l, l, qcb+l, h, hyper golden arrow shot.

wait for poison. strider at 0 health.

its a 2 poison arrow combo. can make it 3 if needed =\

Um I don’t know if this has been covered yet, but Im having trouble cancelling his launcher into a special or hyper. Is there like a special way to do it?

You need to cancel the launcher with a jump first. Ending the motion for special/super in upforward should do the trick.

I use Hawkeye as an anchor so I found a nice Lvl. 3 X-factor variant of his Freeze Shot/Poison Arrow/Gimlet BnB. If you start mid-screen and end in the corner in range for Trick Maneuver H you can do Speed Shot instead of Freeze Shot and link cr. M into slide and then after air magic series do Freeze Shot into Gimlet. It does 977K. Can’t check now but I think the regular BnB only does around 820K in Lvl. 3 X-factor.

More Hawkeye combos for you all.

It would like to make a note that M > f.H > QCF M (Net Arrow) is a better combo starter than M > f.H > QCB L ~ M (Ice Arrow). Ice Arrow combo does more damage but doesn’t work on small characters like Rocket Raccon, Ammy and Viewtiful Joe (it works on Zero, but with some spacing), while Net Arrow does less damage, but is universal.

sometimes when I do my bnb in the corner, the slide after the first otg ice arrow puts me behind the other character so i lose the option to poison arrow into gimlet

anyone else getting this? it happens the most against ryu for me

I feel like im getting the same timing every time but I guess i could be slightly off. if that happens is there any follow up? I cant get scatter super to connect because they recover too fast after and poison arrow won’t otg from that far away =[

Its either timing or spacing. .

on another note, I run a team of Ghost/Hawk/Ammy they’re synergy is pretty good, Ammy’s coldstar assist works amazing for both Hawkeye and Ghost Rider combos.

Oh and Ammy’s BnB ending with Okami Shuffle DHC to Scatter Shot comboed into Gimlet looks sexy.

So heres a question, how many arrows can hawkeye chain together from full screen? Like whats the longest full screen projectile only combo you can get with hawkeye?
