Stages you want to see return OR new stages you'd like to see

I hated the CvS2 training stage, only because the fucking random cubes in the background and shape of the stage made the whole point of having a grid become useless. If you look closely you’ll see the whole stage is like a hexagon or octagon shape (well… if you assume the shape is fully formed and ignore the whole “forth wall” concept)

CvS2 had a pretty dope soundtrack, couple of eh songs but man some were REALLY stand out good. Not sure if This is True Love we’re making is good or just an earworm, lol. Stimulation (New York) is like one of the few hip-hop songs in Capcom history that I can think of, 3rd strike char select was really good too as far as hiphop tracks go. Late 90s had some awesome hip-hop and dj work was at its most popular around mid to late 90s. DMC world champions finals 1995 and 1999 are so good.

Any songs you like from the SF4 soundtrack?

I like Makoto’s a fair bit though not quite as good as the 3S version. Viper’s has a wonderful amount of energy. I’m probably the only one but I actually like Rufus’ it’s cool yet goofy at the same time. Cody’s often tops many peoples lists as one of the best in SF4. Rolento’s is awesome. Although it’s not nearly as good as the SF2 version I like Guile’s mostly due to the scratch work, it does kind of sound like it belongs in one of the Mega Man X games at times though.

None of the stage songs really stand out to me in SF4. Russia is aight I suppose. Most of them are ‘ok’ only really 4 of the new ones from USF4 stick out as awful, especially pitstop 109 and half pipe.

Just gotta share this. Invisibl scratch piklz (Qbert, Mix Master Mike, Shortkut) often sampled SF2 in their sets.

They do it at the start and end of this one, though this is less of a “song” and more of a display of technical abilities.

SF1
That train yard stage and Gen’s stage.

SF2
Ryu’s stage
E-Honda’s spar
Vega’s cage stage
Cammy’s stage
Oh and Sagat’s “French girl” statue stage.

SFA
Australia
M-Bison skull stage from A3
Birdy’s public restroom
R-Mika’s stage
Rolento’s A2 stage

SF3
EVERYTHING!
But if I have to chose…
Gill’s NG stage.
That train stage with the creepy scientists
That snow stage with the Christmas tree
Akuma’s 3S stage
Hugo’s 3S stage
Remy’s stage
Alex’s 3S stage.

SF4
Snowy Railyard.
Maybe Pitch Black Jungle.

Alpha 2 had Rolento’s stage which was on a construction elevator that was going up a building.

Shanghai wasn’t exactly like that though. They were just on a platform that rotated around.

That’s exactly why I like it, because it doesn’t feel like a typical “box with a grid” training stage. Yet at the same time, you can still use the grid on the floor.

I liked the London stage from CvSnK2

Grid on the floor isn’t helpful for figuring out heights. :stuck_out_tongue:

In the Viper aftermath trailer, we see a glimpse of Bison’s SF2 stage but in ruins.

I think that basic idea can be revived again. Bring back his SF2 stage in ruins, make it haunted (feel not literally), possibly merge the basic idea with his SFA3 final boss stage (which also had a haunted and ghostly feel about it) by including a thunder storm.

Although to be honest, my favorite Shadaloo inspired stage suggested (Cestus?) so far was the one inspired by this:

Fighting on the wing of Bison’s plane, at night, during a windy storm, while flying in the air. It’s like the perfect marriage of his SFA2 and SFA3 stages.

I think it would be shameful to forget many of the older SF2/Alpha and even SF3 stages, many of them deserve to be revived and reimagined for the new generation, some of which are as iconic as the characters themselves.

Anyway while searching for stages I found a couple of really cool reimaginations, to demonstrate what I am talking about.

Zangief SF2

I like the Bison stage idea.

The Zangief stage I feel like they KIND of tried to do with Blast Furnace in USF4 but it could have been done better. Still it’s always a cool (well… hot) stage in every incarnation. Nice gritty feel to it.

Also I dunno why the Zangief Stage picture you posted is labeled as “SF2 World Warrior” when that stage is pretty obviously inspired by his Alpha stage, specifically Alpha 3 more than any of em.

Here is SF2’s stage (Champion Edition but w/e)

Here is Alpha 2

Here is Alpha 3

The picture you posted even has that hanging hook, the same metal staircase, molten metal pit and a flag in the background like A3.

Huh, interesting. It’s like with each new interation of Zangief and his stage we go deeper and deeper into the factory, I like that

Street Fighter 5: fight happens standing in the molten steel itself.

You can still tell the height though using the grid in the back. In any case, with the stage as short as it is, you’re always usually near the centerline.

One of the stages I wanted from SFxT was Urban War Zone which didn’t make it into USF4.

Yeah they couldn’t include it because such a huge part of the stage was a tekken character. The big red/black machinery in the background is NANCY from Tekken.

Removing Nancy and removing the Servbot head kind of removes the entire stage.

Who needs Capcom really?

Sidenote - FUCK NANCY

That feel when fans can make better stages than Capcom. Imagine what they could do if they could make full 3D objects instead of 2D backgrounds there (I suppose there’s no modding tool that allows creating stuff like the skatepark stage and Blast Furnace with lots of depth?)

…That is spectacular. Good lord, those stages are gorgeous!

Well the Ryu one is great. Not really feeling the rest tbh, they look okay for mods but nowhere near official

Yeah, if any of them were released as official people would be up in arms at how ugly they are. They are good for mods though

WTF?!

Something is off about it, it looks kinda flat and unfinished. It even looks like an amateur made that stage. The sheep are cute I guess.

How can stages made more than 10 years ago still be more beautiful than any stage Capcom can muster recently?
