Most fun I’ve ever had playing a decade+ old game not named Mega Man. The so called “hardcore training session” turned into a drunken, raving, ranting, violent series of practice tournaments. Did anyone other than Alex and myself do any fundamental drills?
BTW, results from the team tournament below. I’m doing this from memory, so zass should correct me if I got the count wrong. Team Poop consisted of Deezo, JTM, and LTB. Team Maxed Out featured Umbrellastyle, zass, and DoughBoy. Sets of best of three (you must eliminate the other teams players twice each), and players had to keep the same characters for the set. The teams were far more evenly matched than I thought they would be.

Great great games. I felt I learned a lot tonight actually. I actually think I have a good idea of who my secondary is gonna be.
I don’t think I learned anything at all, actually. But it was in great fun. Perhaps I learned that Indians/Natives/Mexicans live on reservoirs.
I happened to make some startling revelations against Sagat and Vega with Chun Li. I also had an epiphany like incident in my car, which leads me to who should be my new secondary. There’s too much uncertainty with Ken, either I do bomb shit or I die miserably. Kinda like playing MSP. His fireball fuckin sucks. I hate it. His fireball is so gay it like outweighs his raw dp.

I really wish Josh’s Mortal Kombat win poses and dances could’ve been recorded somehow. He was really cuttin up tonight, and he was on Kenny’s level as far as craziness goes.
Yeah, forgot that one. For the folks who weren’t there, this line was not spoken out of exacerbation or anger. Alex seemed genuinely perplexed as to what was hitting his character.
And yes, Josh was off the wall. I wish we had audio documentation of the “tips” that he was giving during the other team members’ matches.
Tonight was the most fun I’ve ever had playing Street Fighter, even though something was wrong with good old DeeJay tonight 
I think we should start a team tournament league or something

Yes! I never thought the team tournament format would be so fun, but it really is. The teammates coaching from the sides was great, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget JTM’s “tips”.
How would we do it? Permanent teams? Rotate teams each time?

PS: I’m really impressed at how the general level of ST players has improved in the last 2 months. There’s a world of difference between the quality of play at last night’s tourney vs the first one I saw.
Lately, my execution has improved but I am playing more on my american stick rather than my japanese stick. It has been difficult switching between the two, since I am only taking my american stick to Evo. Granted, the ability to alternate is something I am working on as well.
I must say so myself, Your execution has gotten alot better! Keep it up.
