Not today (thursday). I organized something yesterday because I got three phone calls asking for one, and then only one of those people showed up. I had cancelled plans to make this happen, as well as order food for people, which I paid for and am now stuck with.
It’s disruptive for me when people ask to have a gathering and then don’t show up, so I think I’m going to take a break for a bit :).
Well shit, that’s lame. I’d never call someone about a get-together and not go. Unless something came up, but… why wouldn’t they call you back? No point asking you that, but I’m sorry to hear that. Hope I don’t get stiffed when I throw something… Know that if I ever call (LOL, like I feel like getting raped at ST for hours straight) I’ll surely show or let you know early if I’m not.
I think it’s a little more like this. People don’t call because they assume they aren’t the only one going. I mean unless they’re bringing some crucial equipment I would assume it’s not neccessary.
I honestly have no idea how big your turnouts are though, so if you only invited 2-3 people then they should probably call.
I’d assume that for regularly held things like Zach’s due to the random schedule of the ST gatherings one should be clued in on the fact that there may not be many people going… or something.

Actually, the reason I’m hesitant to give out my contact info (as I’ve explained in the past to Pablo and Jules) is due to my fear of being tempted to game when I shouldn’t. But if you ever need to get a hold of me, shoot a PM my way. I spend far more time on SRK than a healthy person should any way. So odds are, I’ll respond via phone rather quickly.

I have been wanting to show up and start learning how to really play ST since I heard about ST nights. I have been checking this thread pretty regularly to see when the next get together is but I never see a date long enough ahead of time to plan coming. I am sure it is pretty hard to plan and coordinate for a get together, but I would definetly try hard to show up if I could know about a week before or so. I am living in Wallingford now that school has started so it is only like five minutes away.
I am down for showing up for the next one if I can find out ahead of time when it is. I will probably be at Zach’s next Friday anyway, so i will try to pick some stuff up there.
I know that Beasley’s a responsible adult with a busy schedule, and it’s always a burden to host stuff. But I too wish that there was more warning. I’ve missed the last 2 or 3 simply because of a lack of notice.
Then again, perhaps this is a tactic to weed out the riff-raff like myself.
