ST players , I need YOU!

Well, I need anyone on this board to tell me what 2 characters i should learn. Give a reason and some tips to get me started. P.S No Zangief or T hawk , i cant do 360’s

zangief and t.hawk

Anyone who has an ounce of maturity want to answer?

What style of play do you gravitate towards?

Agressive/defensive?

Zoning?

Do you like shotos?

Your road to victory lies in three simple steps:

  1. Spend some time reading the wealth of knowledge on this forum and on the wiki.

  2. Based on that knowledge, try some characters out to find the one/few that fit your style and stick with them.

  3. Quit making shitty threads on here.

Learn a motion and a charge character. Sim and Honda are a very good combination. Sim beats the characters that Honda cannot. In fact he has big advantages vs Hondas weaknesses. Another would be Ryu and Chun. Another is Balrog and O Sagat.

If you ask me, Ryu is always a good character to learn. You really get to grasp the fundamentals of the game and how things work. Use Ryu as a “base” before you branch off into the character of your choosing, even though there’s certainly nothing wrong with sticking with Ryu.

If you want to try to win as quick as possible, there are some tricks/tactics with Vega and Balrog that can be exploited to into some cheap victories. But don’t rely on them too much.

Whatever happened to people just picking the characters that they like and go from there?:annoy:

I need anyone on this board to teach me the kotadama.

If you can’t play ST in the arcade or with friends get mame and play online. Use different characters untill you feel comfortable with one that you can work with and use to get around peoples strategy. Learn that character inside and out rinse and repeat with the rest of the cast watch videos, understand why they do what they did in certain situations and ask everyone on the forums about anything when it comes to ST.

Actually playing Zangief and T. Hawk is kind of a good idea cuz you learn the basics of fighting when you only use normals, that and using characters you can’t really use makes you learn game mechanics a lot faster

Also, doing 360s makes your execution faster

Well at least that’s what I did

Learn everybody, know your matchups, then pick your mains from there and keep practicing those.

Good post! :wgrin: I would give you more rep. But I told by the computer I need to “spread it around.”
