SSFIV Guy thread! Hyah!

So glad they have his final fight chain. Looks like he’s gonna be pretty good at shutting down shoto’s with his shoulder.

lol how doesnt it seem he has his dash? lol they didt show all his moves in that trialer. and they wouldnt take out his dash that would just be dumb.

yeah he’s a rush down character for a reason

imagine abel without his quick dash

  • lol, i laugh at the thought.

hey blazeu,
what do you think of guy so far =)

lol cant say nothing yet i havent touched the game. but i can say his ultra is the best looking one in the game lol

too much naruto.

defo gonna use guy. I hope he doesn’t suck. The transition from alpha to ssf4 may be hard on him.

I’m probably gonna be switching my main to guy lol. He looks awesome and he was so much fun to play in alpha 3.

well looks like he has his dash. this is a pic of dash slide

Got more hyped because of the vid! Shoulder ram move goes through fireballs…yes!!!

Yo, Clue. Been a while, lol. Yeah, his Ultra is pretty Ninja Gaiden-esque, but I’m loving the wall jumps up to it.

Hmm, what could this be ? Grab super/ultra ? http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/35904/super-street-fighter-iv/images/super-street-fighter-iv-20091123000641310.html?page=mediaFull

why is hugo in the background of the cody pic right below that?

Chances on guy having a run/stop/fierce loop like el fuerte anyone?

Also, Am I the only one that wants the non-anti air rushdown move for the super? You could juggle from it, and since you can juggle, you could also reset.

I like how shoulder goes under projectiles and his ultra looks awesome kinda like a mix of fei long and vega’s (both of which look awesome but actually suck =[ )

the ultra looks fancy but looks like it lacks substance. Substance over style any day e.g ryu’s ultra, not fancy but a lot of setups. Unless its like chun li’s ultra, or something along those lines, I don’t see it actually applicable or linkable to anything, doesn’t look like it’ll juggle, and we’ll only get the “partial” ultra if we’re hitting an airbourne opponent.

It seems it will juggle same way chun’s does – notice that it’s the last hit that launches into the animation, not the second like fei’s.

Why do I get that same feeling? I’ve always been a fan of Guy, he’s probably the “freshest” ninja alive. So I hope he isn’t as weak as I portray him to be.

But will it be strong? I honestly don’t think so, it didn’t have that impact or substance like others do. Then again, only time will tell us.

I don’t understand how you guys can draw these conclusions off like, 5 seconds of edited footage.

^ Most of the threads on this (sub-)forum are purely speculative. Are you really that surprised?

Very nice. Fuck, Guy’s voice actor sounds very familiar. The same with Cody’s. Now this is going to bug me all day…

Also, you mean to say that Shoulder Ram goes under fireballs. Only reason I’m correcting you is because people might get the impression that it will go through things like Low Tiger Shot and…well, Low Tiger Shot since I can’t think of anything else that travels closer to the ground at the moment.

It could go through fireballs, but it’s just unlikely considering how it behaved before.

(Also, isn’t Rose’s fireball slightly higher than normal?)

Chances of him having a run/stop/fierce loop are dependent on upon El Fuerte keeping his, I would say, though even if El Fuerte keeps his, it will probably be (a lot) lower if Guy gets to keep his chains intact–as I said I earlier, I would hope that they would give Gen his chains back in that case, but that’s a different thread.

Also, most people are hoping for his ground super, actually. Although Guy’s anti-air super is probably one of the better ones since you could at least hit some grounded characters some of the time–I’m pretty sure Sagat and T. Hawk would at least still able to be hit by it (while standing) if he gets “stuck” with it.

Oh, thank god. Maybe that means you will actually be able to anti-air with it.

(I know I’m going to regret those words when Guy proves to be top tier solely because of that.)

In some cases you can tell, my opinion on his Ultra though was sheer estimate.
