SSFIV Guy thread! Hyah!

Don’t forget plenty of EX 'copter kicks. Top tier strats son.

Abel.s Crouching Fierce does on the second hit, so I suppose you could say that, but doesn’t Rufus’ roundhouse only pop up if the opponent is on the ground? I haven’t seen it juggle.

You can use it as a poor anti-air and combo snake strike or ultra afterwards.

EDIT: A Nun beat me to it. It’s a straight juggle, you get anything you want after it, even midscreen Ultra.

nice av lol.

Rufus’s HK, Chun’s back kicks, Abel’s crouching fierce, ELF’s close RH and Gen’s kick stance crouching lk all put your opponent in a float or juggle state. All of them except Elf can Ultra off of their move, and the reason ELF can’t is because his Ultra doesn’t work that way.

So yeah.

OK fine, I was wrong. Whatever.

I wonder how that new move will coexist with his regular air throw, or if it just plain replaces it… or if it has a completely different use from what we’re guessing.

How do we even know it’s a new move? Did I miss something? How do we know it’s not his regular air grab? Hell, the devs can use whatever camera angle they want to take screenshots like that, it could be his ultra.

From Azrael’s translation for today’s blog post:

“Just an accent and not a primary move”, could it be a follow-up to something?

His ultra, if I’m not mistaken, has them spinning with a wispy air graphic surrounding them as they go into the ground.

And really? You’ve never, ever seen someone wake-up reversal DP? :wtf: You need to play more.

The picture could have been taken before they start spinning. It’s them spinning that makes the “wispy air graphic.” The translation already shows this to not be the case though. If it’s an accent to a move, then it must be Guy has attacks with air options. Maybe he can do a grab out of his run or something like he can with his Bushin Flip.

And I play plenty, maybe I don’t play the same type of players as you, but I have never seen anyone knock someone down, then walk up to the downed player, and do a SRK.

I think they are counting Ultra I as a “New Move” - The kick super with the Hayabusa Ending.

My money is on his Raging Demon to be Ultra II and his Punch Super will be his Super in SSF4.

I too think “Rolling Izuna Drop” is just a fancier version of his air throw. I can’t see why they would give him a command air throw, though it’s been done before (R.Mika).

I hope Guy retains his DF+HK -> HK launcher from CFJ.

Properly timed meaty lp.srk’s are actually pretty annoying as they give the impression that you can reversal on your wake-up, but you can’t (unless you do something like an EX.Tiger upper which has something like 11 frames of invincibility).

But that isn’t what they were referring to, they were referring to … you knock someone down and that person shoryuken’s on their wake-up, not you doing it to them, them doing it to you.

Why does everyone want “raging demon” for his 2nd Ultra? It was never that good. If enough people request that shit, it might be put it. He already has a built in combo for an Ultra which we have no idea if we can combo into from the air. Why would you want to limit his options? I’m honestly hoping for something from the air or something to close the distance.

I’m glad they’re talking about the Gief matchup because I was feeling he’d get raped against Gief pretty hard, so hopefully they’re giving him stuff to deal with Gief. I’m also loving that they addressed fighting “turtles” so hopefully he’ll have stuff to deal with that too.

i’m sorry, but that killed me

I love it. Hopefully Guy and Cody will have a 3D version of their Alpha 3 character interaction. It would be epic!

I was actually disappointed at the lack of character interaction in SFIV. No ryu/ken fist bumps, etc. However I liked the rival matches with all the comments thrown in, and I wish they would’ve added that to all matches.

The little quotes were nice. I guess I’m just don’t like em cuz my mains have rivals that I don’t like Ken and Rufus, Chun and Viper… :frowning:

They should have known better than to NOT add the fist tap. Even if that was the ONLY interaction in the damn game, it should have been there.
