SSFIV Guy thread! Hyah!

I <3 Guy… can’t waittttttt Yeeeeeee

screams

i hope he has his raging demon like move…always liked guy but never learned how 2 use his ninjaness effectively

Ono said so.

His ultra in the latest commercial looks badass.

Maybe cause they tend to wear less and have less muscle so it would make sense.

Yeah because a second layer of cotton shirt would totally help you withstand another punch.

And y’know, Chun Li, C Viper, and Rose totally wear less than Zangief or Sagat.

Well considering the men in this game, should ANY of these women have stronger defense than the men in this game?

It’ll be a little weird to see chun li, cammy etc having more defense than zangief or sagat. (akuma and seth are exceptions since they’re offensively so powerful)

have less muscle

Because the people that agree with it say dumb things like “duh she’s a girl, girls are weaker and have less muscle.” Right because that’s a valid point in a game where people rip apart cars with their bare hands and summon projectile plasma.

If you’re gonna roll with the “how does it relate to reality” argument, you must also believe that a single hard punch should K.O. (and murder) Gen and Rufus should hardly be able to walk, let alone flip 10 feet in the air.

It’s really the least logical fighting game argument I’ve ever heard and frankly I’m shocked every time someone mentions it.

Lets try to stay directly on topic here.

I see Guy being a low-healthed, Viper-esque character. 900 health I would guess. His defense and wakeup options would be poor, but his rushdown would be awesome.

I certainly see him not being scrub-friendly.

I disagree with the viper-esque. i see him more like ken or how ken is supposed to play, get o your oppent and dont give him/her time to retaliate…i would say a health negation should should only be applied if his rush-down game is just that good …this of course, coming from a still learning player

To whoever neg repped me for this comment, it doesn’t matter how much his ultra does since the damage scaling on landing the ultra after 4 normals is like 50%, so really I was being generous with the 300 figure.

If you disagreed or didn’t understand what I was talking about, I don’t see why you couldn’t just reply with a message like a normal person…

With the addition to 2 ultras to the whole roster, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be like 3s where you always chose the best super art for competitive play… Not that it’s a bad thing at all.

So I’m thinking of picking up SFA2 off PSN, any speculation as to which SFA Guy will be most similar to in SSF4 based off the short vids?

I see a lot of people saying SFA2 is the closest approximation.

Not that I’m an addict but I actually went out and bought SFA3Max on the PSP today just to fuck around with as I only own an X Box.

Could have downloaded GGPO and played online with some of the people that are dedicated to the alpha series.

People are saying alpha 2 because alpha 3 guy exploited the system you can’t really translate that into sf4. In alpha 3, you can do the bushin chain 3 times, even after his LV3 kick super and then end with a elbow drop cross up to bushin chain again, there’s no way it would be that good in sf4.

Personally, I hope he is closer to the Capcom Fighting Evolution version because alpha 2 version’s running kicks are slow and always puts you at a frame disadvantage. I think the overhead kick puts you at a frame disadvantage even on hit. CFE guy had a mix of alpha 2 and 3 in him and his running kicks was faster, faster than alpha 3’s versions.

cool that you bought the game and support Capcom…

but it’s better to play it on GGPO with the big boys:

I think that video is kind of bias. That sagat player did not do one alpha counter, even during the super he just blocked the whole thing and he wasn’t saving his gauge for cc either.

The same could be said of Fuerte once he gets someone at the wall.

I don’t know about Viper-esque. He’s looking like a cross of Ken’s rushdown and Fuerte’s Run game.

I see him having 900 health. Maybe less, as unlike Fuerte, he has Fast normals.

Quick as hell, able to close the gap immediately AND having a close range game? Yeah… I think he might be mid tier.

Other then his EX hurricane kick ( going by likely invincible frames) does he even have a respectable wake-up option? As right of the top of my head I dont think he has any… and I think his might be even worse then Vega or Fuerte

His Bushin Flip is great for getting up and away from your opponent since it flies damn near the entire screen length. It’ll be decent wakeup in SSF4 I’m sure.
