Looking at it for the 500th time, I just now realized that the beginning combo of this ultra actually is Musou Renge, it just doesn’t have flickering, silhouette effects and multihits. Maybe it’s not a counter. It seems like Capcom hasn’t decided on its startup properties yet.
Hmm didnt know that. Its been a long time since I played SFA3 but I thought it grabbed if they were standing.
I usually did it if I stunned them and wanted to end it flashy.
Would still like it if they implemented it as part of his ultra. Just not that retarded, but not too good either.
Even though it was 5 seconds of footage, I feel the opinions on the ultra. Looks badass, but given how we saw the start up from that set up, its not clear how useful it will be just yet. If there is a way to juggle into it, I kind of seeing it not getting the ending animation like in cammy’s fadc to ultra.
But, i like his move that ducks under projectiles… already see him having pressure options against zoners. AND, I love the flip into slam. Even if he ends up being low tier (which I kind of assume he will end up solid mid), I’m gonna use him just for that slam.
They needed to be standing and the actual grab animation had to connect, i.e the hands had to touch the opponent which was why it was easily jumped away on reaction because you can jump away well before the hands touch you.
While they are at it, change the title to “Real ninjas wear red high tops.”
i agree with this
Cammy and Sakura have 950 health (I would know, lol). As does Rose.
Gen has 900.

Best thread title ever. I agree with this as well.
Imagine my disappointment when I found out I cannot Nike ID dunks in the exact colourway. The straps have some dumb pebble effect.
Grr
I’ve never played Alpha 3 in my life, what would be worth practising in A3 til March so I get a rough idea of his basic tools?
personally, i’d practice A2, since i think guy will play closest to that version.

I think his cross up game will be poor due to his massive air time. He has lots of long range ground pokes so his footsies game will be pretty good alongside with run.
What other positives can we speculate about?
I think he’ll do ok because with chain combos he potentially can do some major damage and I think he’ll stun some characters easily.
FF Chain and EX hurricane kick both put opponents in juggle states. I doubt his Alpha 3 chains will be in but I’m hoping he can land something for decent damage or have a move that gives you a clear 50/50 mixup when you land, via walk under/crossup
Sorry if what I’m going to write sounds like overdone, but it just looks like a parry.
And it would fit with Killian statement of SSFIV being “a lot more agressive”.
Guy’s voice sounds a lot like Ryu’s. I think that’s Kyle Hebert voicing him.
It most likely is.
Compare it to “THE ANSWER LIES IN THE HEART OF BATTLE” and it sounds the same.
Also, your TITLE IS THE DRILL THAT PIERCES THE HEAVENS
Haha, yeah. Actually, Kyle Hebert was in Gurren Lagann’s English dub too. Funny how things work out.
Back on topic, Guy looks pretty awesome, I always skipped over him in Alpha but I think it might be time to go back and give him a shot.
Holy shit the ultras of Guy, Cody and Adon look freaking amazing! They should fix the other ones too. XD
Guy looks kinda fun in action, but SF4 is to slow… and that makes his moves kinda predictable.
Guy is looking awesome.
Ya Guy could suffer in a way Vega did because of the slow down in 4.
