Yeah how dare you get banned for trolling and saying slurs.
How unreasonable it is when you do things against the rules and get in trouble.

Everyone will be top 10 because they got buffed
well, who does ken lose to?
Anyone who knows how to play against him which is about 90% of Xbox live
He is a very solid character but way too popular so people know all his tricks
That doesn’t say anything about his matchups.
Just because a character is popular and well known doesn’t stop you from eating an unblockable j.fierce or having to deal with his pressure game.
If Ken beats my character 6-4, knowing how to fight him doesn’t mean I don’t lose 6-4
Blanka is still a bad match up for Ken. I can’t think of any others because Yun and Yang were nerfed and the St.HK buff takes care of Balrog.
Ken has two useful ultras. The problem with saying he’s going to be top is that he doesn’t have any severely unbalanced match ups other than Gen
I was talking theoretically, I’m not always talking about the character I know best, unblockable j.hp doesn’t even work on Blanka. Also AE Ken beats Blanka IMO, and it hasn’t been a bad matchup since vanilla.
Going even vs. the cast with 1 or 2 7-3’s, and dozen or so 6-4’s is a lot. When you don’t have any severely bad matchups it’s easier for player skill to win out.
Anyways my point was that matchup knowledge doesn’t magically make bad matchups not bad. You just know how to play now.
besides all the stuff ves just said, whatever you think you know from fighting xbl goes right out the window if you fight a top player who mains ken. some people do actually, you know, play this game at a high level.
crazy i know, but true
Yeah exactly, and it’s not like there are a whole bunch of American Ken players who are exceptional either.
Playing on live vs. dp/kara throw spamming Ken scrub is not going to help you beat Dr.Chaos or BananaKen at a major.
I think Cammy beats Ken.
yeah, BK has been in and out of MI for the past year+. its overwhelming at first the difference between a player of his calibre and what you normally would have considered a decent ken player online.
you learn not to ever get knocked down, or let him get going offensively. kens rushdown is pretty ridiculous in the right hands
really, i dont see many characters beating him outside of those that can keep him out well and arent really effected by his trajectory change when trying to AA him. its almost like abel step kicking in, in a way. he dosent need a jump in normal or tatsu to hit, he just needs to get you to block
not saying no, but could you elaborate. better ground game? ken specific mix ups?
Ken loses to Guile, Akuma, Fei, Balrog, and Dhalsim. Cammy doesn’t beat Ken. He does very well against her on the ground and has plenty of options to stop dive kick. At worst for him it’s a 5-5. He obviously doesn’t have any overwhelmingly bad match ups. But, consider his placement in AE and the fact that he’s losing his 7 frame comboable sweep, which is a big deal. It complemented him as a mix up character in a big way. He’s getting buffs to a couple of tools to help his ground game a little bit. Honestly though I still don’t see people using st. hk in place of his sweep (yes even though it will be 8 frames) and his cr. mk. The damage is nice, but It’s such a slow normal even with the changes and sweep yeilds greater reward with mix up potential. The fake TK is interesting, but I doubt it will have a large impact on gameplay.
i understand guile, and sim, but why does akuma beat ken?
guile beats ken? i’ve always felt like that was 6-4 ken, the risk-reward ratio is vastly in kens favor in that matchup.
Because Ken can get outzoned all day and once he gets in he doesn’t really have an effective OS to stop teleport untill he gets U2. He has EX tatsu, but a lot of the time it’s not worth it to spend meter to do like 30 damage and be at +1 (It’s very difficult to stop that last hit from whiffing too). I’d argue that Ryu has better mix up potential on Akuma even though ken’s mix ups are better on average, and at the same time he keeps up with Akuma’s zoning much better. That match is a 5-5. Ken just has a really hard time getting in to get a knockdown and once he does he has trouble maintaining momentum. It’s just always been a hard match.
I’d say because she has the tools to get around his poke/fire ball game with her air game and cannon spike messes with a lot of stuff he could want to do in the air. On most knock downs Cammy can do ambiguous cannon strikes that you’ll just be dying for the Ken to try and DP. I’d say Ken’s real advantage is when he gets on Cammy he can stick on her and make her guess, a lot of times wrong for big damage.
6-4 Cammy but that’s only my opinion.
The best characters in 2012 will pretty much be the characters that were under Yun and Yang, no ones figured this out yet? Sagat, Seth, Viper, AKUMA, etc
Meh, I haven’t played that match much since super, but it was definitely a 6-4 there. In AE it’s probably closer to a 5-5, but since he’s losing his sweep again, it will probably end up being closer to a 6-4 in his favor again.
Couldn’t you fireball the teleports or HK tatsu?
You can FB for 60 or EX for 90, but it doesn’t maintain momentum like Ryu’s Tatsu would for example. The point isn’t that he can’t punish it at all, the point is that one of his main strengths is mixing you up and he can’t really do that to Akuma all that well.
