What do you expect a Rose player to do? To play upclose when she has no real 50/50 besides tick throws and frame traps. LOL. She is a low tier character and you are criticizing her when you are playing one of the better characters in the game? lol. Rose needs to play lame to survive she barely has any real usable combos. All her “damaging” (I use that word loosely since her most damaging stuff is a joke) require you to burn a ton of meter and have to be hit confirmed out of precise timing. You might as well frame trap people instead since her throw is actually decent and leads to about the same damage as her simpler hit confirms.
If you get the time out loss against a Rose player I guess he just outsmarted you and played the matchup with caution (not to mention you didn’t play like a scumbag enough since Sakura can get away with so much BS against Rose).
I wish Rose was better so keep away wasn’t her only real effective option, but Rose is a badly designed character in a badly designed game. So there’s your answer.
there is no such thing as an “easy mode character.” if you are better than the other player you will beat them. don’t complain about what other characters can do that you cannot do. you picked that character, you live with their strengths and weaknesses.
his point is that Rose is one of the safer characters in the game, can deal with a lot of options and can be tough to get in on if they are committed to playing defensively. so he finds frustration with your character the same way you find frustration with his. you don’t live in some moral high ground where only you get to complain about characters.
There’s always easy mode characters in every game. I know people get offended if I say that. But whatever, getting a reaction outta people is always fun for me. Sakura is actually one of the better characters in the game with lots of stuff.
A good way to describe the match up is me poking a shark with a fork to death. Sure I can do it, but if I get bitten once I may die and it’s not fun. It’s a stressful situation really. I have to mentally be on my A Game all the time while the other guy can play like a moron and still be a threat?
Well that’s SFIV for you, stupid match ups all around unless you are rocking a vortex character. In a game where a match up as retarded as the T. Hawk vs Blanka match up exist you can’t just expect people to be polite and civil all the time. That’s why as a Rose player I find the game completely not worth the effort. Nobody of relevance in Japan plays Rose (or at least mains her) for a reason. The character sucks. Rose is what I would describe as a good scrub killing character. Nothing more. Anyone that can learn a couple of braindead vortex set ups and Option Selects against backdashes should beat her without much effort.
Everyone is not going to agree with you on everything. It’s called freedom of thought and judgement. Something looked down upon by some people in the FGC it seems…lol
Problem here, sir, is that you speak in universals.
Another one (also related to the first) is that it appears you have yet to account for the different reasons people play the game.
The people playing as “morons” may be playing to the best of their ability. If you’re getting bodied by them it’s because you aren’t good enough. Sure there are bad match ups. The solution? Try harder. Choose a different character or play a different game.
One man’s moron is another’s elitist and vice versa.
Now to stay on topic (kinda)…
The other day I played a Japanese player (I live in Japan, set region to same because of better internet speeds than international) who messaged me before playing and then booted me.
Why? Because I main El Fuerte. Hit me with your hate stream as much as you like… but you and I play this game for different reasons.
What did he say? つかれるから無理
Trans: “not gonna play, don’t see the point” (literally: “so tiring, can’t do it”)
I wouldn’t say there are easy mode characters, but there are characters that have a shallower learning curve then other with a greater payoff sooner into learning them. That I will agree to.
As far as the title of this thread, I will admit to just sending hate mail. Gief v Bison. Still learning Gief. Bison either pressing Standing Fierce or N.Jump Fierce with occasional teleports when in corner. Trolling me the entire time while I’m trying my best to learn how to deal with it. Sends me a message after he beats me so kinda went off on him. I feel he deserved it though.
^You should have asked him, why he didn´t used Standing Roundhouse and J.HK, instead of Standing Fierce and J.HK, would actually make a lot of things easier and also help his overall game.
I got an angry message from a Seth player today. He did nothing but off the wall leaps at me, so naturally, with Sagat, I brutally tiger uppercut all of them for insane damage vs Seth. Anyways, he was not pleased. He sent me a message saying **“You play like a pussy!” **
I think what he was trying to say was that thanks to my tiger uppercuts, I was being hard to get? Right? Or am I over analyzing this?
I think Seth is easy mode, anyone can do mixups with Seth but it’s hard for the other player defending because of the large variety of tools. So you need to be aware and put in much more effort than the Seth player performing braindead mixups.
Out of all the characters I play (I/3 of the cast), Seth is the easiest to get wins, i’m just talking from my personal experience and how hard it is to deal with Seth. Also I think he might be the easiest in the game when it comes to execution
I was about to rage mail against ibuki players, but i hold my faith and have a second thought about raging.
Yet i just wondering…the biggest question of the century:
" How on earth do you guys deal with cross-up kunai? "
(dedicate to cody players)
I’m a Ibuki player, and…I really don’t know what to say…well…uhm…It’s unsafe if blocked…Like very unsafe.(There’s a way to make a safe kunai vortex, but the kunai always hits the same way so it isn’t a vortex)I’ll recomend ex pong (the tap punch attack) or meaby try to use focus and back dash (or back dash directly)
Talking about rage mails ,as I’m a Ibuki I get a TON of rage mails.A TON:
Faggot from a dhalsim player that don’t know to use teleport
A ton of bad words from a Cody when I was using Chun (called me lagerbut the connection was awsome,I even did some legs loops on him)
A ‘‘you don’t know a shit about the game, just doing crossups’’ from a salty smasher Ryu (mashing LP shoryuken…well)
And a ‘‘you just spam the same move over and over’’ from a Guile (that was just spaming sonic booms full screen and doing flash kick every wake-up)
But there are some good mails too
’‘You can tsujumi loop? my God’’ from another Ibuki,GG,he HJC from a cr.lk I did it from a mk after a tsujumi loop
’‘Great Saykio’’ from a guy called ‘‘Saykio forever’’ I just had to pick up Dan…I just…I had
’‘GGs man, round 2 was awsome’’ From a Cody while i was playing Makoto
But no one notices my Chun-li legs loops
What, I thought you were the champion of the modern vortex-style game play where coin-flip mix-ups are the shit. I mean you coined the “80’s gay” crap just to hate on the people who don’t like it and now you’re complaining yourself.
i know vortex gameplay is one of coin flipping aspect…but crossup kunai more like unblockable crossup. it doesn’t require to guess because it seems like 100% safe vortex.
dealing with elfuerte loop is a cake…but kunai cross up? its kinda tricky. any tips? tq.
tq…dealing cross up kunai while standing is different when waking up.
as for cody, he’s a slow character.
therefore…focus and FWdash might wont work due to his slow dash speed,
(unless if you anticipated pretty early)
back dash? forget about it…
as for waking up, i just wanna say one word…“okizeme”. (safe setup version).
cody can’t deal unblockables projectile while wake up.
thats a rocket scientist…please, if you could derive for me in detail dealing with okizeme’s. Tq again.
about ragemail…you kinda lucky bumped against silly dhalsim player
who don’t know how to manipulate teleport. it’s rare!
as for your guile opponent, i think he’s kinda hypocrite…nuff said,
