SSF4 Guile Moveset and Attributes

Hit box info would be good. Everyone keeps saying crouching MK is better than vanilla because it’s faster when in fact the new frame data says it’s the same, now they’re saying the hit box is “improved.” So many speculations.

Is there a compiled list yet of all the confirmed/rumored changes to Guile in Super? Not sure if it was going to go into this thread or another one.

These are the only differences I noticed when I compared the new Super frame data to vanilla.
-f+HP used to be +4 on hit, now it?s down to +2.
-Level 2 Focus Attack is 1 frame faster. (double check this)
-Sonic Boom charge time was 55 frames, now it?s down to 50 frames.
-Knee Bazooka changes:
—18 frames of recovery now down to 15 frames.
—was -11 on block, now it?s -8.
—was -6 on hit, now it?s -3.

Also, everyone said LK Flash Kick has more invincibility when, once again, the new data says it’s the same. Another speculation?

I wonder how many times I have to say “THE NOTES SECTION IS OLD!” before people start to get it.

NOVELTY ITEM

Double upper-cut:

  1. Training mode
  2. T. Hawk
  3. Counter-hit: on, guard: auto
  4. Corner
  5. s.hp(close) c.hp
  6. lols

Also, hp(close) mp looks pretty cool too.

Syngin, I think you forgot to mention the target combo. although you could still get TU’ed or DP’ed out of it, provided that the opponent does not expect it. just a minor thing.

i shoulda joined this site a long time ago… nice info

Yeah, I’m thinking about restructuring it into a huge list of normals with notes about each normal. Kinda like the Wiki on steroids.

Guile hit box animations.

Ok, I just got the exact motion down for the Flash Kick>FADC(Back Dash)>Sonic Hurricane. I’m going to hit the lab hard these next couple of days so I can test it a little bit and get my execution of the combo down to a science. Probably sometime next week I’ll have a tutorial with as detailed an explanationa as I can of how to input the motion, why it’s possible, and a shot of my hands executing the move on a stick with input display so there will be no confusion. I might be able to get this done quicker but right now I’m shooting for next week. This is of course if nobody beats me to it. Lol. Big props to GeoM for helping me out with this. But sit tight guys, just giving y’all a heads up.

Great to learn this, although using this in a match at intermediate level or high level play could be difficult. FADC the flashkick (forward dash) is way easier and probably more useful. however I note that landing a flashkick at point blank range will result in the Ultra missing and you end up dashing under your opponent.

A crowd pleaser is flashkicking an attempted jumping in and FADC (dash forward) and cancelling inthe the Ultra.

You sure about that? I’m confident that I’m landing the u2 juggle off a cancelled fk from point-blank by holding the FA for a little bit. Maybe I’m wrong though…

can anyone confirm to me what the improvements to cr.mk were? thanks

Even point blank, you can land FK > FADC > U2. Just need to hold FA a wee bit. If you watch my hand motion videos, you’ll hear the combo landing (on Hakan) in the background. Those FKs were done point blank and with h.fk. Granted, I don’t think it’ll matter what strength FK you use. It’ll still land.

You’re probably right about the chances of using it, but I’ve always had the mentality to learn everything I can with Guile because you never know when you will have to use it to win a match. And the Flash Kick>FADC(BackDash)>Sonic Hurricane is simply a starting point. You can throw it into a lot of combos and have success with it as well. 3

I did this when i was at Edi’s house, and yeah the U2 will miss if you flash kick the opponent when you are literally right next to him. However, when i was a bit further back U2 will definitely connect fater FADC the flashkick. when i hold FA for a bit longer I miss completely.

Tutorial for Flash Kick>FADC>(Back Dash)>Sonic Hurricane.

I managed to finish the tutorial ahead of schedule. I tried to make it simple so it should be easy to follow. After messing around with this in the lab for a while, I found that this really isn’t that hard to do when you practice it. More seasoned Guile players should be doing this pretty consistently within a couple of days. Hope this helps!

Is there hitbox info for s.hk(close) & s.hp(close)? I didn’t see it in the videos.

Hopefully someone will answer you since nobody has been able to answer me.

Yeah, that is what I have been practicing. I hold focus until I see the yellow cancel “flash” go away and then forward dash SH. The opponent falls far enough that Guiles hitbox pushes them into the starting SH. I will need to look at it in the corner again.
