Depends which slash. It’s -2, -4, -8 and - 10 onblock as lp, mp, hp and ex respectively. Light is safe unless you have an SPD or Chun super. So light, which is used a lot you can’t punish, medium you can but it’s tight and Oni rarely uses medium. Hard and Ex. are easy to punish and are used frequently. They can crossover though so it might be easier to to try and interrupt.

Panic flashkicks is what it looked like? Wow, I look like a scrub then. I thought it was understood that that i meant to do flashkick fadc to make it safe but ex came out by accident. The last flashkick was a mindgame from the set we played the day before. He didn’t press anything before so I thought he would this time.
Can someone tell me what should I use against Dudley’s jumpin elbow? Any AA I’ve tried is stuffed or trades. Otherwise if i block it’s just a free mixup for him after that.
I have a few questions. I’m probably around a 1200 PP Guile on XBox. I tend to vary from around 800 - 1800 PP though. Just looking to get better.
- Any advice on Vega wall dives? I’ve read and know I can hit them sometimes by jumping back or forward with HK or HP or air throw. Is HK or HP safer in general? If the wall dive is from the wall closest to Vega should I be jumping back or forward? If the wall dive is from the wall closest to me should I be jumping back or forward? I have a lot of trouble with the timing and I’m looking for an easy way to beat this. I know to focus or dash out on wake-up.
**Edit - I’m thinking jump back MP (or away from the wall of the dive) is the safest for the most part. If both Guile and Vega are at full screen and Vega tries to jump to the wall nearest Guile jump towards the wall… air throw looks like it’s easy. If Guile and Vega are near the middle of the screen looks like you can walk forward with little risk of getting hit too. Overall, jump away from the wall MP seems the safest overall though.

Against Bison, I can punish the headstomp easy by just walking back and St HP. Easy and works every time. What is the best strategy against LK/MK Scissor kick spammers. I know I can punish HK Scissors with Cr MP/Flash Kick. The LK Scissors are safe though. If they are just spamming them should I just throw out a Back St HP. It seems like trying Cr MK or Cr HK is dangereous in this match. In general, I’m thinking I always want a boom out there before trying anything like that.

What is the best way to handle Rose when she gets in close? I know I can zone Rose out fairly easy but when she gets in what moves should I use to push her back.

In aggressive match-ups like Juri, Makota, Guy… how do I get them off of me when they get in close. It seems like I’m getting stuck in block frame traps a lot. In general, I think these are good match-up for Guile but I have trouble with the higher level players.

One last one. I’m thinking unless I’m in a combo or I see the other player focus’ing I should avoid throwing EX Booms too close to the opponent. Is this a good general rule of thumb? Lately, it seems like I’ve been getting stuffed a lot before the EX Boom comes out.

try to dash or knee bazooka underneath him… depends on timing and your reaction time. If its on wake up just block. His elbow has a lot of priority. Anyone else know? i think uppercut stuffs it. Your best bet would be trying it in the lab.
React with an air grab if the Dudley is being obvious about it.
Standing lp I find trades most of the time.
Depending on the distance Guile high kick will give you a nice trade or beat clean depending on his button press.
I think a well timed lk fk or ex fk will beat and or give you nice trade options aswell.
Air throw gets stuffed 90% of the time by the elbow, and i’m not too shabby with my air throws

Standing LP trade is laughable, its blocked SB damage. I wouldn’t say it “beats” the amount of damage Guile takes from Blankas jumping FK. Its pretty clear on life meter.
“A” for effort Gilley but I think the best options are crouch attacks you came up with. Great work man.
By the way, would you happen to know how many frames guile’s prejump is? I heard Jago say it was 4 frames for most characters but im unsure of this for guile.
You take more damage but the important thing is you get better positioning and keep your opponent from doing even more damage. Crouching attacks don’t work well in that situation as was said in the video.
