I remember that good times. That was a pretty decent flame war for a while.
Not to sure if this is the right thread to post this but yesterday i was playing and i came up with a problem facing Ibuki. When she would jump at me i would go for an air throw but every time she would throw me. Does her air throw get more priority than my air throws?
I takeit tyatyou already see her coming in and you jump reaction to throw her? If thats the case, no one can instant air throw off a jump. Chances are, you just didn’t have enough time to be able to throw and that the ibuki way already on her way down. That or shes reading you well.
With respect to air throw priority, there’s no such thing (I think). Just a matterof which throw comes out faster and which hasmore range. Guile’s throw hasthemost range, iirc.
i remember making this face at my computer screen
-_-
can someone link me that exchange between those guys?
thanks!
yo, clearing up an embarrassing gap in my frame-data knowledge: pursuit property = ?
Can anyone explain to me howcome I see some people’s combo vids of Guile doing a boom -> c.LP -> boom?
I just can’t seem to get the charge timed enough to do this. I have to typically do c.LP twice.
Syngin, pursuit property means you can hit when the opponent is juggled with a move, like Guile Flash kick. If the move has pursuit property lets say 3, it can hit until the juggle counter reaches 3. Some moves contributes nothing to juggle counter (like dudley duck upper, first hit), and those who contribute to the juggle counter increase the counter according to the number of hits they do.
tl;dr
Flash kick -> EX flash kick/ EX sonic boom/ Super/ Ultras works because of Pursuit property.
Flash kick -> St.hp or any other normal does not work because lack of pursuit property.
tl;dr of tl;dr
pursuit property = Juggle

brillance.
Precharging helps. Also, learn the actual timing for Guile’s charges in Super. Are you using :l::r::l: + :lp: to throw sonic booms or are you just doing :l::r: + :lp:? It’s really shorter than it looks or would seem. One thing that helps alot (and is really really boring as well) is to just sit in the training room for abit and just chuck sonic booms at varying ranges/spaces. Charge buffer with normals and practice recognizing when you have the charge and when you don’t. I do that occasionally just to keep myself in check as far as Guile’s charge timing is concerned.
o.o I’m new to sf4!
i can help you. i beat diego umijuarez in endless mode once.
haha ok! starts writing downs questions I have a lot to ask of you on how to use Guile kind sir!
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I use :l::r::l:. I typically set the computer to walk forward through record so they’re as close as possible to allow me to fire another boom. Does it matter which punch boom I use? I typically default lp but sometimes can’t combo things unless I use hp.
Cheers.
Yo Guiles of SSF4 listen up I’m about to blow your shit up right now.
I have* no love* for you.
Aw, DHEVil! Aw! What? Aw!
Can a guile add me on XBL? I main ibuki, and I am struggling with the matchup right now. Thanks in advance if anyone adds me
Add me. I go to a lan center but I dont have a console. If you can PM me ahead of time I can make a date and drive down there, takes 10 mins. I also can play my old mains who have placed in tournies Ryu and Abel.
I switched to Guile a month ago but I have the fundamentals down, and other basics I’m sure you’ll have trouble playing. But hey, add TBGM12 and we’ll play. I need ibuki prac too.
ah ahahaha i love this!
