Tbh I’ve not noticed either of the nerfs all that much. Can’t really tell with cr mk buff just yet.
The 2 frame link buff I have noticed and I’m loving it! Although I do still think he should have gotten a damage buff…
One weird thing I’ve noticed is flash kicks seemingly work better as anti x-ups, although this may be due to delayed wake up. I’ll have to do some more testing.
Overall I’m ok with him at the minute. The nerfs aren’t as bad as I thought they’d be, but we’ll see how it plays out
One annoying thing I realized last night is that I can’t seem to stand very close to Rolento. Feels like there’s an invisible wall infront of his character preventing me from getting closer. If you go stand next to Yun for example you’re half inside of him (:D). I then found out UDK > cl.st.hp is impossible on Rolento as it will always be the far version.
Health nerf irks me a little on principle because although U2 got damage buff (which improves the trade when you U2 a fireball), the health nerf negates that trade improvement entirely.
Landed a few J.hk > 5hp xx EX Red Focus > Ultra 1 last night. It is a nice little chunk out of a jump in for little execution effort but man that U1 nerf… I even put on shades and stuff to see if there was a stealth buff somewhere to U1 juggle properties or damage but so far nothing
Rolento is a fucking nightmare, I can’t UDK him and it’s infuriating. I’ll be playing blanka against him just because I can’t play with this stupid glitch/oversight anymore. Same shit goes for elena
Hugo’s hurtbox when stunned/dizzy is extremely weird. It’s like you can’t hit him at all. Stunned him midscreen. Threw a preemptive sonic boom and went with a jump in HK (the sonic boom and the HK were supposed to hit at the same time). Hugo somehow moved in front of the sonic boom and under the jump in while he was dizzy.
Wolfkrone also reported that Viper’s Level 3 Focus whiffs on Hugo when he’s stunned.
FK autocorrects really good vs Hugo for some reason. You can also just whip out U1 since he wil get a lot of hits from the first kicks when he crosses you up.
Also is it me or is it near impossible to crossup with Evil Ryu’s j.mk now after grab, whiff s.mp, j.mk?
Have any of you played around with fk fadc U2 much yet? I hit a Poison player with it in a match and mistimed it, Guile dashed under her, but U2 auto-corrected and hit her anyways. Tried to replicate it in training thinking maybe it was some kind of buff, but couldn’t do it again…
Spent all last night switching back and forth between Guile, Dee Jay, and Honda; lots of folks online playing around with Hugo from what I saw. Kept getting tagged by his EX clothesline trying to jump over it on reaction, but I don’t think you can… lol. It blows right through EX boom too. His air command grab thing is pretty fast; I think it’s safer to dash back from him after you score a hard knockdown if you’re trying to space him out because he was able to grab me out of the air on wakeup with it even though I started jumping back while he was still laying on the ground. I noticed fk auto-correcting against him pretty well too, but I’m sure they’ll find a way to patch that out. =P
eventhubs saying guile is 7th place for tier listing lol honda is 42/45 for worst! even tho i am undefeated on ladder so far lol
was able to link cr LP to u1 on counterhit in training, dont think its possible otherwise. also seems like it only does 7 hits. regular u1 supposed to do 9 hits, only once i was able to get 10 hits. didnt take notice of the damage.
agreed with close s.hk beating out rolento pogo stuff.
against hugo EX lariet, just block it and punish him. He’s -5 on EX lariet. EX lariet has hyper armor which will blow through multiple attacks. The hyper armor lasts until he’s right up next to you. If you time your attack correctly, between the time he gets near you and the clothesline, you will hit him for counter hit. Time your attack incorrectly and he’ll hit you. If you don’t want to bother with this, just block it and punish.
flash kick is very nice in this game. possibly the best its ever been in sf4? it’s only traded once for me the whole time i’ve been playing this version, and that was against a rolento jump in.
Fun note, seems like Sonic Hurricane is safe from red focus. Like, if you do it randomly, and they red focus after the flash, Guile recovers before they can release focus. At least that’s how it is with Hugo… might be a bad example, but his focus isn’t THAT slow.
From what I saw, when you stun Hugo, its best to wait until he get up and is on his knees before attacking him. Also when he get on his knees, he move forward a bit.
So be careful with the distance and timing to combo him.
the 50 points health nerf i found is not noticable. It sucks when I did U1 on cross up and it doesnt auto correct. The hit connected and then the rest wiffed. sometimes I got punished and other times the opponent got knocked over which gave me enough time to recover.
He feels almost the same. Haven’t yet experimented with the effectiveness of the upside down kick yet.
Anybody use poison? I found that she is actually not difficult to learn
I want to say that Guile has advantage over Poison. In fact he probably has advantage over all the new characters except for Decapre though Elena is potentially a problem.
Poison’s Fb recovery is great but it seems her Jaguar Kick move can’t blow through a guessed Sonic Boom like Fei Long’s EX Chicken Wing and her jump is fairly floaty (though her jump-in normals seem decent). Basically you can sonic boom all day and there’s not a whole lot she can do other than jump-in which is generally an ideal scenario for Guile.
