Huh. St.hp xx boom, st.hp is actually better. Can substitute the last for a sweep, too. Not as fun, though, as the other combo. :c

I think dwu as it currently is will be something that declines in effectiveness. People are already making 11 frame elimination setups.

i know i love that combo because it incorporates a boom + flash kick. im pretty sure that combo builds slightly more meter. did you test them out in training room? I think they are pretty close in damage either way.

Can I get input on what to do when the opponent is going into the focus attack animation while standing near? Is it best to jump away? Start your own focus attack? Or flash kick? I habitually flash kick, and sometimes it hits them, but if they backdash out of it, I get punished. I am wondering if this is a bad habit that I should try to break. If I want to get away, I always jump backwards. I’m thinking I should try to always focus backdash when the opponent is charging their focus attack. Opinions?

if you are standing right next to them i dont think they can escape a flash kick by backdashing

if they are farther away FA BD or even just reg BD should just about always get you out of trouble
you can do your own focus its a risk though but you can react in time if its starting to get to level 2 just back dash out of trouble.

you could also start something with cr LPs if you’re close enough

Haha, since Guile’s U1 autocorrects, you can now combo to the other supers in the corner. Before, you could only use LK super. It’s best to keep them cornered though, so stick with LK super.

That’s the third time a nerf has been reported that didn’t go through though. They’re also saying he has 950 health, and more counterhit on his boom startup. I find that hard to believe they would give him “Girl” health when his damage doesn’t fit the archetype of a high damage output character.

Kinda ironic the character interested in combing his hair, and putting on sunglasses has girl health.
The character that resemble a guy had man health in AE. I’m talking about Mankoto.

I coudn’t believe it when I read about it this morning, 950 health for Guile? WTF, makes no sense at all, and still the CH on sonic boom nerf, which along with less health and once again crossup free, and no kind of comeback potential (not counting EXRF), so sad, at least 950 stun characters are way more dynamic, they should at least add the possibility, of FK FADC Air Grab, or something else to compensate for this new nerfs.

Yeah, the changes don’t make sense. Remove autocorrect U1, 950 health, and CH on SB’s. No way they would nerf an already midtier character.

I wonder if people just figured out that U1 can still go the wrong direction. I noticed it during the beta test.

Eh, I really wish they would stop tinkering with the game.

I don’t mind the U1 being reverted back. I honestly wasn’t too urked with the Counterhit Sonic Booms too much either. What kills me is the Health nerf. That’s completely out of the blue and makes no apparent sense whatsoever.

But reverting U1 back to not autocorrecting is now nerfed more than AE2012. Remember…

AE2012 U1 is 7f startup 10f invincible, 510 damage
USF4 U1 will be 5f startup, 6f invincible, 460 damage

I’m sure they’re just playing around with things, probably trying two extremes, but if U1 remains the way they just changed it, no one will use it. For me to even consider using it they need to change it a bit back to what they had it in the early beta tests. IMHO, if they remove autocorrect, U1 needs 5f startup, 15f invincible, 510 damage for me to even consider picking it.

If they leave U1 the way they just changed it, 950 health, CH on SB guile is now nerfed more than AE2012 guile. I doubt they’ll do this since he’s midtier at best in AE2012.

Health nerf is just uncalled for. Yes delayed wake up helps us etc but Guile never had fat health to begin with and if you have lowered health AND the counter-hit on sonic boom our bar is gonna vanish pretty fast.
I agree that if they remove auto-tracking then they should revert it to 2012 properties while keeping the 5f startup and also drop the CH boom.

I would like it if the last hit of the first kick of U1 did a hard knockdown if the opponent is grounded. Right now, if you try to U1 escape when the opponent tries to cross you up and the opponent is knicked by a single hit of U1 in the air, you get to escape. But if they land first before getting hit, they simply flinch a little bit and then you’re screwed.

I think 5 frame U1 is not that bad without autocorrect if it has a little higher dmg. At least it gives U1 the ability to punish stuff like Dudley’s ex.mgb, Rose’s ex spiral, Fei’s 2nd hit rekka on block(I think, depending on spacing) etc. Also Guile can also guess an U1 upon a reversal fadc forward by the opponent, provided the opponent is stupid enough to dash forward. There might be no way to escape this if the opponent is in the corner, since backdashing will be hit too.

Counterhit on booms is a stupid idea. The man only has 2 special moves and I don’t know the fuck they wana nerf his boom. It’s not like you can’t guess jump a lp boom or even make Guile block the jump in. I remember in Super, Fei was a bad matchup since he can just walk u in corner and FA all day and just lvl 1 FA crumple on Guile if he booms and EX boom will trade. Any form of pokes will get Guile crumpled. If Guile jumps forward or No pokes = backdash.

I have a friend at northwest majors testing stuff. U1 still autocorrects but you can’t jab into it anymore. 950 health is confirmed, and Guile has at least 1 “secret” buff that they just want the players to find. My friend who was a Vega player actually found that LK now crossups. They had an interesting conversation with combofiend, apparently they’ve added a ton of tools to all characters but aren’t saying what yet.

Heard mk crosses up, not l. L would be underwhelming.
