The best thing to do against Dudley with meter is standing jab. 80% of the time you will hit him out of ex Mach. 19% you’ll block it. 1% you will lag out and have to restart your system.
If you land the jab, just hit another then mp…
Back dash is gonna hurt. learn to block and counter. keep Dudley outside of sweep range and poke him to death.
Just block ex mgb, hella punishable, no point in trying to poke him out of it for a mediocre punish. Only scrub dudley’s will random ex mgb.
I swear you guys are listening to what i have to say about the backdash. I’m not saying “always backdash”. I’m saying do it every once in a while to keep him in check and to make him drop his mix up game to instead try to tag the backdash. Which is good for YOU.
I know the threat of backdashing. When i started in vanilla I would play against a really good ken player who would OS every button he could. I learned to block and tech very well. And I never backdashed. But with dudley that threat isn’t as prevalent. You guys really don’t understand dudley like I do. I’m not trying to be an asshole but you guys aren’t listening.
If you guys want to play through the match add me on psn.
Any tips against a good rushdown Cammy? It is by far one of my worst matchups, the first being a good gief (but at least I can do some decent damage to a gief). I try to set the pace of the match, but its quite hard, especially after a knockdown. Those canon spikes that pressure you on wakeup appear to be safe and can be ambiguous on certain characters. I fought a 4000 PP cammy last night and got absolutely obliterated because of that wakeup pressure. Even EX-gekiro didn’t help.
It’s times like this when I really do miss Ex-Oga.
you are better off just try to block on wake up. you are more often going to eat more damage trying to guess your way out with giekros than if you just block and possibly eat a couple throws
but against the dive kick pressure, i know you can option select couch tech with crane crouch RH. that will at least make her think about the way she pressures, allowing you to backdash out or whatever, instead of just dive kicking and throwing
i think it is extremely important to stay solid in the neutral game in matches like this. if she knocks you down once, it can be game over
I realise this may be old to all of you but I have just noticed that c.lk (crane) beats Blanka ball. I find this easier than c.hk (crane) or gekiro to deal with Blanka’s balls when I don’t have Ultra or Super.
against gen save up super and ultra shuts it down also just jab him out of it…gen vs blanka is a pretty bad match up for gen to begin with but the must play it safe take the lead and play careful…also if the blanka is smart you cant wall dive cause of his electricity…i play an ok blanka i think and would like to get more match up experience against him…just hit me up with a friend request =D…just havent been playing much of school so im very rusty XD
its strange wheather oga or elektricity wins. seems kinda random.
safe super + ultra = shuts down any roll.
c.hp at the start of the round will beat lp roll clean (you know the usuall lp roll => throw or elek), this is also the best poke against full screen balls.
ok sorry for this guys tommorow i probably have to play against this really agressive fei long player he’s really good and i know he can play defensivly but i have a problem with his agression and my main problem is how i punish his c.lp * whatever into rekka, i was thinking lp, mp, mk~hands but i wanted to get some input before i do something and just get ruined agaim. i would like to be able to stand a chance against with out looking free…which he makes me look on a regular basis.
i mained fei exclusively in vanilla, and i play him and gen in super. so i know a bit about the match
-mantis crouch fierce works fine for AA.
-when you play footsies with him, you want to stick to low foward into hands. if you did standing mk he could get a trade or outright beat you with rekkas
-cancelling into hands destroys feis focus game
-blocked rekka x2 is free mk hands no matter his spacing
-mantis stand fierce destroys chicken wings. dont stand there and block these. they have a terrible hitbox after the initial startup kick, so hit a button and you win. you can do more, but stand fierce will work fine without much timing/execution
-no sweeps. they get punnished by rekkas and take you to the corner
-if he only does one rekka it will usually be safe unless you are at point blank range
imo fei has a really tough time if you just play really lame, so dont feel bad about just blocking and looking for punnishes. fei gets better when the opponent has to come and fight him, or tries to fight him straight up
Ok so ty for the help guys I look forward to using this information. But I’ve been browseing other forums trying to find out what they know about gen just so im might know what they think they know about gen. And i noticed that most of them have a thread that just links to our match up thread, I think that a thread like that could help gen players, even though most other (non Gen) players no very little about him anyways.
I would start it but i wanted opinons about it so i dont clutter the forums with a thread that would be useless.
