SSF4 Gen Combo Thread

s.HK after oga not so much, after super ya. I’d rather use s.MP after oga. As for knockdowns, Gekiro is a techable knock down, so they can quick stand. I’d rather use a Mantis Sweep.

But do any of those compare to jumping target combo? I was under the impression none of them had the damage or stun.

Jumping target combo can whiff the second kick if you ever happen to Oga them on the high spots, and it’s techable as well. You will have to guess when to safe jump since the opponent can choose to quick stand or not. I personally lose the momentum after a techable knockdown.

Gekiro IMO is the best follow up. It is the most consistent and does almost the most damage. Yeah it is techable but you can still apply a meaty if they do tech. Dash in cr.lk, walk forward overhead, dash in throw(not many people will tech this) walk forward cross up.

I almost always do Gekiro after Oga, but later on I like to reset to cause them to panic or just throw them off.

How is the stun on that gekiro?

Turn on Xbox, go into training, turn on damage info and check it out.

Get a job, go to work, wonder how the stun is, assume people on SRK aren’t dicks(?), ask question.

or you can wait to get home and check yourself. assume people aren’t lazy or impatient. Have job, go to school, have gf. guess i just have more patients than you. btw get back to work.

No need to argue in this forum.

I don’t have time to play PS3 right now, so I cannot give you an exact value, but I do know that any Gekiro does less than 150 stun.

Gen’s Frame Data Super Street Fighter 4 : EventHubs.com

That wasn’t so hard, lol.
(both to find and/or share)

So after oga, full HK gekiro is 251 damage and 250 stun. Just a jumping target combo of HK, HK is 240 damage and 390 stun. Not to mention gekiro is unstable/inconsistent.

Tell me again why people use gekiro?

BTW, the king of oga enders © Cr.HP does 280 damage and 450(!!) stun. On some characters like sagat and rufus its really easy to long using the MK oga.

However, to follow up with c.HP Oga has to hit as low as possible, which means you’ll give up that many number of active frames for the opponent to react. If they’re the counter-SRK style you can bait them, but if they’re the block-and-punish style you usually cannot.

As I said before, jumping target combo can whiff the second kick if you ever happen to Oga them on the pretty high spots (like their heads) which will make it 200/350 instead. If a person doesn’t care about stunning the opponent (since Gen is pretty bad at it), he/she’ll always go for more damage. + if you think you’re gonna get stunned soon you’ll always want to follow it up with the slow Gekiro.

Me? Just muscle memory from vanilla.

“AMATEUR!!!”

oga, gekiro is 279 stun.

Not according to what just happened in practice mode.

Also, even if you’re right, that’s still 110(!) less stun than just jumping target which is way, way easier and consistent than hitting all the oga hits.

I’ve also got the cr.HP down pretty well. If you hit them below the waist and your timing is right, its pretty easy really.

Someone said its hard to stun with Gen. I really disagree. I get stuns all the time. Just proper use of target combo and poking with cr. HP will get you dizzys all the time.

target combo after oga is specific and therefore NOT consistent.

without any harmful intentions, I doubt you play really high level opponents // opponents that know the matchup good enough if you get “dizzy all the time”. You’ll rarely land a target combo in an actual match against a standing opponent, and even much less with oga therefore no further followup.

it IS hard to stun with gen unless you play against a dummy like player (aka newb) or you have some great rush down with success, which ofc happens… but rarely. the stun tools he has (e.g c.hp) arent good enough to get many hits in a single round aswell. peek at cody, seht or viper and you’ll see what “good stun” is about

Explain.

I just did Oga to Gekiro three times in a row with no Counter hit on, and it’s 279 stun with HK Gekiro kicks.

Also Crane c.HP you must hit them low with the Oga to launch them high enough for the c.HP to hit. If you don’t you whiff.

Try reading the thread man, this has been gone over and the 279 stun has already been addressed.

And Raww, you claiming you land all hits 100% of the time?

Zukuu, the target combo is VERY consistent. Really the only time you can’t do it is when you come from the ceiling.
