I believe they’re gonna release some more information about Arcade changes later today. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Gen will be in the mix.

I’m eager yet We probably wont get the changes until some time next year. I don’t recall if they will give us the AE changes or not once it is released in Japan. I highly doubt it and there is no arcades state side that will have it near Phoenix. SO why all the excitement? I jsut hope we have some good gen footage of Gen players playing in Japan once AE is released.
I’m not excited at all, because Capcom was trying to improve Gen alot in super and look what they did. I can hope though.

To be honest, I’d rather see more people use Gen as opposed to just Yeb. I’d take 10 no-names over Yeb, just to see that Gen is being used.
Side note: Even if Teiga is going to come out faster, I’m still not sure if it’s completely worth it to use U2. I feel it’s just too gimmicky to use on any competent player who knows what they’re doing. The only real time I’ve landed it is against people who I’ve trained to backdash on wakeup (it’s no coincidence that they weren’t all THAT good, but hey, neither am I).
i still think both U2 are pure crap compared to U1… i might be wrong, but…
teiga is not entirely bad (even if i dont really like it) since it can punish some projectiles on reaction using TK motion, but mantis U2 is the authentic definition of crap
if i could take Zetsuei + Teiga, maybe i would… but again, mantis U2 sucks too bad and makes me give up on Teiga without problems unless the matchup would absolutely benefit of it
Well let me put it like this i miss seeing good gens at u.s. high level tourneys, ever since super dropped i honestly havent seen 1…
U1 is better in every way except for one, to punish fireballs.
Mantis U1 for damage
Crane U1 for clutch situations. (keeping opponent in corner after super, beats a meaty uppercut done for chip, punish the obvious jump hard.)

u2 is imo a must against rose, maybe ken but thats kinda difficult. its good against dhalsim too, so is u1…
I dunno want to except from the devs when it comes to nerfing gen…we all can agree that he doesn’t need any but I hope they don’t do something foolish like nerfing the speed of his wall dives.
Gekiro damage nerf, Oga meter build, less range on sweep and overhead, s.MK’s frame advantage on block, name a few more. I decided not to trust dev blog much after what they did in SSF4 changes, and this will stay until AE comes out as DLC (maybe it’s half a year away?). Oh well, I’ll be playing other games much more then, like AC Brotherhood, MvC3 (when it comes out), etc.
Even though U2 can punish fireballs, I still prefer U1 in all of those matchups.
The fact that they seem to have given Gouken, Guy and Sakura some noticable buffs give me a little bit of hope… Not that I know jack shit about playing those characters really. But I don’t dare to be THAT hopeful unfortunately… If nothing else we’ll get an awesome costume at least, haha!
I would’ve liked a costume where he finally takes off the stupid bun. Well, he did in alt 1 and alt 3, but he replaced it with another accessory that covers the top of the head (if not whole).
Not sure about Sakura, but I have been playing Gouken and Guy as secondary and tertiary, and I must say Guy’s buffs are pretty significant especially with the 3f crouching short. For Gouken, more precise information would be required, but he’s buffed either ways imo.
We’re going to see another long post about Gen next week, but I don’t think it’ll be longer than Gouken’s. I’m posting the translations for Gen here as soon as it comes out, and maybe Azrael can do the whole thing.
