SSF4 Gen Arcade Changes

EX Hands, sweep -> really early LK Oga. Can be looped with sweep, MK Oga.
(KKK) s.LP, c.LK, (PPP) sweep -> really early LK Oga. Can be looped with sweep, MK Oga.

I’m not sure about his reversal potential, since the kicks don’t appear to hit meaty.

i couldnt get it. is he a far walk like chun?

is it me or the heavy gekiro is much simpler to complete now?

I didnt get that feeling, but i will test them out again.

Heavy gekiro was always very simple to complete imo. So many variations on kick timing.

i know not many people used it, but im almost certain st.fierce is less functional as an AA. its getting stuffed clean a lot more than it used to vs good jump ins

I always got it stuffed against normals like Sakura’s j.HK or Claw’s j.HP/HK. Usually traded with most j.MKs unless I countered them out.

For AA I use EX Geriko, or c.MK (shrinks the hitbox, Chun-Li kind of) in Mantis, or c.HK in Crane.

I’m loving the c.LP to s.HP combo. My bread and butter now is the same as Amiyu. j.MK, c.LK, c.LP, s.HP s.MK, LK Kicks

Yes, c.LP to s.HP is tight, and you’ll drop it from time to time, but it’s not that hard once you have trained it, plus the combo is safe on block, and I feel it’s with adv. frames, so if it is blocked just don’t do LK Kicks and try to keep the pressure, with the awesome Focus Attack range Gen has, of whatever you think it will work.

Cross-up on Yun after forward throw felt same as Ken. I didn’t have to walk that much forward. And I hate all those who have 3f crouching attack.

Oni has a loop after any cross-up Oga by resetting him with crane c.LP xx LK Oga to the far wall. Keeps crossing up. Loses to reversal as always.

Put up some tournament videos of my AE Gen in video thread. Lots of missed links.

Ok. We know we miss s.MP -> s.HP on Ryu in some cases. If you have super, and you know you can’t do s.MP -> s.HP xx s.MK (You can go for raw TC2, but s.MP is such a great normal), do s.MP -> c.LK xx c.MK xx Super and it will work

I want to find a use for TC1.

Ok. Tried the cross-up things for the twins again. I was wrong. Well, sorta right.

If you do Oga as perfect meaty, you will cross up the twins with a slight walk forward (just like Claw setup). If you don’t, then you have to cross them up like Honda (c.HK whiff, walk backward for a frame, LK Oga far wall). Once you cross them up, you can do a loopable c.MP reset xx LK Oga near kick as a cross up, but timing is strict as well (you need to hit c.MP in the crutch, not even slightly higher or lower)

c.LP -> s.MP -> s.MP -> sweep works to both.

TC1, gekiro… what else can we do with it?

TC1, Hands. I’ve only put about 10 minutes into the lab for AE so don’t quote me. But I couldn’t get c.LK, c.LK, TC1 to work. But I was able to get things like. c.LK, c.LP, TC1, hands to work. So this might be a possible block string, use c.LK and c.LP as a hit confirm, than if they are blocking, use TC1 into Hands. I’ll doubt check to make sure you can’t get mashed out of it.

Also, this might be pointless but, c.LK, s.MP, TC1, Hands.

NOTE: I apologize if someone has already posted these suggestions but I’m on my iPhone and I’m too lazy to scan to see what has already been suggested.

“TC1,Gekiro” does more or less the same amount of damage of “clk, clp, TC2, Gekiro”… but slightly less stun. The avantage is that the execution is much much simpler, almost impossible to drop.

But, if you’re going to end a combo in hands, why wouldn’t you do something like cr.lk, cr.lp, s.mp, cr.mp xx hands? I feel like this is easier than using the TCs and does more damage anyways. Am I missing something? TC1 is only good for ending combos with gekiro I think. Which is awesome, just saying if you want to do hands, maybe avoid the TC.

If I’m totally wrong, correct me, I haven’t been trolling the forums much the past few weeks.

I wouldn’t say slightly less, it’s closer to 100 I think? 50% more or so than TC2 variant.

But still I agree, that’s not enough motivation for me personally to risk dropping the 1 frame link over using the TC2 combo for basically the same damage :). Only time I use TC1 is when I punish someone or when I land a jumping attack and can do MP into TC1.

Edit: But my execution is not my strong point at all. If you can do the 1 frame link EVERY time, than it nearly makes TC2 obsolete.

ops, right… not slightly… don’t know what I saw

the unblockable that street11 found on sakura- foward throw, lp roll, crane jump RH- works on Oni

the jump rh crosses up both twins and e.ryu

heres the really good part.

frame perfect foward throw, lp roll, crane jump mk is an unblockable on yun and yang

**thats right, unblockable on both twins
**

Really don’t like the idea of unblockables.

But I’ll probably use it against Yun and Yang, haha. Quite an interesting find.

Is s.MP on block, c.MP a frame trap? I’ve been using it and it appears to be that way. but I don’t want to start saying it is, without official frame data.
