Ive landed super on jab, c.mk, s.mk. c.mp, crossup mantis mk… i mean, its even possible to land super on counterhit crane c.hp.
I often find myself using it to end a match by not finishing a gekiro and using crane super… lol

Going to guess Gen getting Chain Crane combos or links… in AE cr.lp into cr.mp? Overhead into cr.lp cr.mp lp-mp-hpJaysen
Making the overhead combo-able would be pretty sweet.
Gen’s changes are up SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV???IV ??? looks like they added target combos to him. Hmm
someone translate please.
The f*k? I thought dev blog would be up TOMORROW, not tonight. Anyways, it’s up.
Gen
[Mantis]
Two TCs have been added in.
TC1 is c.LK xx c.MK
TC2 is s.HP 1st hit xx s.MK
s.LP’s hurtbox during active frames have been resized, so it’s harder to get hit out of.
c.MP’s start-up became faster, so it’s possible to link from s.LP and c.LP.
s.HK range improved a bit.
U2 hitbox improved downward, so less chance to whiff (lolz)
[Crane]
U2’s travelling speed is faster.
[Others]
During backdash, he’s airborne right after invincibility wears out
[Overall]
Blah blah.
Consequently, there is absolutely zero nerf to him.
Okay, I bet 10 bucks on ‘the dev blog will say stuffs’ and I just lost those.
Also, WTF BACKDASH? I mean, didn’t they already set it to be that way?
Not exactly a Gen player, but hmm…
I take it TC2 will affect a lot of his combos where he can link Mantis s.HP after? Like s.MP, s.HP xx waterfall kick is now s.MP, TC2 xx waterfall kick?
Eh…sounds like he’s getting better and better fundamentally, but still no meter gain buff. >_<
Well, atleast I’m happy about the TC’s
Is that the full jist of the translation? Most things I were hoping for are not mentioned. And Seth killian said there’d be some interesting changes to crane? The fuck son. Oh well I’m sure there are more changes to him, as the blog does not mention every little change made to the character. Atleast he did not get a nerf at all, so that’s atleast something imo.
Well I didn’t expect the meter to be back to where it was before or anything changed though I wanted to. both TCs could lead to some decent meter gain though when connected. All in all sounds like there could be some options with those TCs added.
Odd, didn’t Seth Killian say that there will be a lot of interesting changes to crane?
He didn’t say that those changes will be posted in the dev blog.
Now, the problem is whether s.MP -> s.HP combo will be possible on all characters, without jumping in.
Like I said, blog posts do not include every change being made to the character though.
interesting. Well what do you think warlike? You’ve played Gen for quite some time and gave great input for us. I think the TCs could give us Gen players some interesting options.
That is true, but I figured since he said those were the interesting changes, those would be the ones we see on the blog.
Not complaining or anything though.
I still prefer the google translate version. “The ankle at all, so your decision not Eating” Something about “decision not eating” makes me feel good.
I don’t know how I feel about the lp>mp tc…
Yeah even when SSF4 dropped, we didnt get all the Gen changes in the dev blog. I’m sure there’s still alot of stuff to be discovered.
They didn’t really say much at all about Gen for the regular Super blog if I remember right.
Something that concerns me here.
I thought SSF4 Gen’s backdash was considered airborne right after invincibility wore out.
Why are they mentioning this again? Would this be a result of pure neglection, or is there something I don’t know about?
Also, 142 people viewing Gen section? Wtf?
No fix on the meter gain? Damn.
I’d trade those two TC’s for that.
Nice that didn’t further nerf him though.
Hmmm maybe there is more interest Gen than meets the eye. I really think he is one of those characters that people like but don’t want to make the effort to learn becuase right from the start players thought he was bad.
