what problems are you having with them, it would help in trying to give you tips about the match up.
double post?
Been messing with Honda for my next in-depth matchup post and this is a thought:
When the match starts, back-up.
Honda will either walk toward you which is not a great idea offensively on his part,
or more likely…
Walk back, and eventually [in theory] he’ll try to close the distance and get some chip [so he can get the life lead] by headbutting you. When he does, stick out your standing fierce [ As long as it’s extended, It wins every time]. From there, he’ll try to get the life lead so all you have to do is sit back and react and while you’re next to the corner, try to get off a back throw and then jail his fat ass. Commence mix-up
i prefer walking him back if possible. i dont like the idea of giving Honda ground. if he eventually walks you into the corner you’re gonna get put in a shitty guessing game where you are gonna either take chip from hands constantly, or try to guess a proper jump, then you’re gonna get smacked out of the air with nj.hp, which fucking hurts.
I would agree with you, if Honda had a fireball, but he doesn’t which means he has to put his body on the line to do damage. If he’s walking toward you, he is willingly giving up a valued asset- his charge. If he’s headbutting at you, it’s still not that bad for dudley, because you can either s.hp it, or if it’s a fierce, block and punish with mp mgb. I guess it’s a trade off of which way you want to try to get him in the corner.
Then you did it way too late.
ah, ok, i misread your post. I thought you mean to do it so it beats ex headbutt on the way down. Not a fan of jumping back after you knocked them down though, but at least it’s an option.
Okay, this happens with the good ones. Whenever I try to pursue them runaway, I’m just mistiming focusing and ducking past their Kunai and fall into their TC combos into mixups. If I’m lucky and they do the overhead one, I hit them with cross-counter or the EX into Ultra and go back on the offensive.
But if you have any overall tips, I’ll gladly accept them.
If they’re backdashing, do Target Combo 2: c.lk> c.mk and option select it with c.mk [the one that knocks down]. Basically all you have to do is press c.lk and then press c.mk twice, quickly. Hope that does somethin, CDB2.
p.s. I just beat the best US Gouken on Live. What is that match-up supposed to be for us? cause I just fierce punched and threw a lot.
j.hk (“the peoples elbow”). whoever thought of this name is brilliant
Thanks for the tip, I’ll try it out. And the Gouken/Dudley matchup is 5-5 the last time I checked.
Some players call it “the business elbow”, lol!!! Regardless of name it lays the smacketh down with great diginity!!
gouken isnt that bad of a matchup but dudleys throw are one of his best tools
I prefer target combo 2 + cr. hk to os against backdashes, and it’s called the business elbow, people.
but you dont come from a long line of people that enjoy wrestling. THE ROCK’s famous move was the peoples elbow. And in a way he use to look like dudley. So in my mind its always the peoples elbow. “If you smellllllllllll! what the rock is cooking?”

While not a super serious suggestion, his nj.hk and j.hk use a different elbow. Maybe one is the business and one is the people’s?
j.mk > business elbow
j.fk > business casual
seems to me like the obvious name would be the “Gentlemen’s Elbow”
and on topic i find that rolling thunder owns bison(dic) and has made that matchup much easier for me.
You can hold down back, and press cr.lk cr. lp to safe attack. If they Ex Sissors, EX PC or Ultra, you block and RT. all that can do is EX jump and your in a good position to punish.
Then if they have no meter you can OS toward MP/ RT. This will catch backdash and all teleports. Pretty pwnage.
this is genious good friends. simply amazing. i give you all my thanks.
I haven’t seen it mentioned, but I’ll ask-how do you guys fight the following, since I keep getting my ass kicked by them?
1)Vega
2)Guile
3)Seth
Out of the three, I can normally do well against Seth, but Guile and Vega beat the shit out of me; it’s hard to get in close. Ideas?
