How do you deal with annoying Rufus players? Specifically, when they do Galactic Tornado, then they immediately crouch and use LP afterwards. How can I punish this?
cr.lp xx lp MGB will always beat their followup after galactic tornado unless they do EX Messiah. They can’t jump or anything, they just have to block.
If you just do cr.lp without buffering the lp MGB it’s safe from EX Messiah too.

So far the matches I hate the most with Dudley are Chun Li, Guile, E.Honda, Balrog and Dhalsim.
I’ve been fighitng a lot of Chun Li’s lately and I hate them all.
Just know that the galactic tornado itself isn’t punishable. But you’re asking how to beat out the followup jab I know. Posting more for others really haha. What Kikuichimonji said is the best bet for this situation.
I’m having some problems against Rose. To be honest, I don’t really understand the character, as there aren’t many Rose players here in the UK, so I’m a bit puzzled as to what I can and cannot punish, even after looking at her frame data. For example, with her slide, unless it’s a meaty slide, I should be able to punish it as it’s -6 on block… but if she spaces it right, is she safe? If so what’s your best option after the slide?
Similarly, if she finishes a blockstring combo with Soul Spiral, she should be at disadvantage too, but again I can’t seem to punish. Is she safe from a certain range, or can I punish, and if so with what?
I can tell you right now, if Rose is from the farthest range on her slide, she is +1 on block.
If she is from the farthest range on every spiral except lp, she is moderately safe.

Yeah Rose give me problems also.She is really good in this game.Definetly one of the better characters.I find her pretty easy to pressure, but extremely hard to get in.her safe slide and soul spiral are kind of annoying.I usually have to crouchind tech after she slides, because: 1) Is she throws, i tech, 2)if she attack, i may get a counterhit. 3) if she does EX spiral i can usually block it, recoverying in time. I tried EX DP after safe slide, but he EX Spiral beats it lol.It has really bad incinvibility for an EX Reversal (and kinda the only one he has).
I use fierce after some blockstring on her, because they thend to jump away, to start the zoning game, but after some 130 damage fierces eaten, and a meaty f.hp mixup waiting after they reset, they will stop jumping.I love doing meaty f.hp ~ st.hk xx HP DP for massive damage, because the f.hp gives enough hitfreeze to make it hitconfirmable.If not, add a jab before the st.hk.I even got Counter Hit meaty F.hp ~ Rolling thunder. Offline though, so i have no replay:(
so i was doing meaty f.rh after knockdown on abel (which was a poor decision actually), he does wake up u2 (absorbs the f.rh), and then my mk came out (not sure when i pressed it, i’ll have to check the replay) and stuffed his ultra. Not sure if he held it either.
That’s worth investigating further for sure. I’ve noticed that other Target Combos seem to be able to stuff moves with armour on them too. For example, against Balrog, I think that if he does wakeup EX Dash Straight to ride your meaty, that Dudley’s cr.LK, cr.MK Target Combo beats / trades with it as the second hit comes out fast enough. I’ll look into this myself next time I can get into training mode.
I had a close match vs. a Balrog, but I ended up winning. I really like using f+HP for that matchup.
Wondering if anyone uses short swing blow or thunderbolt effectively in a match. Every time I use those I end up on the hurting end… doesn’t help short swing blow gets beaten so easily by simple jabs…
Thunderbolt might be good for chip death, but otherwise I can’t see much use for it. I think if you do use it, make sure you have meter to focus cancel it.
I used it once or twice as a cross up, but dudley is not the type of character to time out and charge so it feels awkward…
you have to be careful about thunderbolt, there isnt much blockstun on it and even if you focus backdash you can still get tagged with some
also the more i play against dhalsim, the more hopeless it feels. =/
