Balrogs cape actually looks quite decent and has it’s own physics and flow to it instead of it being static. If Bisons and Giefs were like that I’d be happy.
^ wurd, but for some reason I think SF4 Bison wouldn’t look right flying around the screen with a cape. It’d make him seem like some reject from the legion of doom. It looks great in the rival cutscene but not enough to warrant a whole new costume.
I main dictator but for the life of me I can’t imagine what his new costume might be. seems like all they can really do is add flourishes to his current costume like say tassels, more stylized shoulder pads or something but I want to see something more extreme. also love how in HD remix his psycho crusher changes colors based on his costume. that’d be a really nice touch. Any thoughts?
I also think they should give Makoto the bandage shirt from Abels old design, Makoto is also a grappler and it does make perfect sense. That or some sort of really girly outfit just for the juxtoposition.
Also, Bison had an alternative costume design in the art work bit on Street fighter 4, think you have to unlock it but it’s pretty cool.
^ man I think I know what you’re talking about and it’s f-ing ridiculous haha. He has some silly shadaloo helmet and giant tassles, but some sort of adjusted version of that would be awesome. Those giant armored shoulder pads from the 3d Contest a while back would look sick.
That unused costume looked ridiculous. You could just imagine how cumbersome it would be. “Now, face the stumble mighty stumble Bison”!
Bisons alt should be him shirtless, with syringes and ivs in his torso, charging him with Psycho power.
It also makes sense when you factor in Viper’s peculiar crotch bulge 
Bison’s alt should be a truck driver as a tribute to the hilarious ending in the SF animated movie.

In Gen’s concept art you can see sketches on a costume that resembles what Yun/Yang wears and Gen without his silly hat thing keeping his hair in. Wouldn’t mind seeing that in SSF4.

I think it’s pretty weird and a bad idea to give characters alt costumes of other characters.
Gief and Hugo are separate play styles and I really like the distinction, it’s a shame when they don’t keep characters as themselves.
I liked how the alt costumes were extensions of that particular character - like Ryu’s Oyama nod and Gief’s Haggar fandom. Those are a bit different as that’s who those characters were basically based on. Likewise, Dan is already half Ryo and half Garcia.
So, in that veign I would like to see:
- Ken - sponsored US karate federation style Gi (or normal clothes like the anime)
- Ryu - I thought his SF4 alt was perfect, but perhaps an Evil Ryu style adjustment would be cool.
- Gouki - A bit difficult but he could look more like one of those warrior statues he’s based on.
- Dan - the training gear was great, what about some weekend running suit.
- Gouken - I’d also like to see a proper Gi with his beads back on.
- Bison - We’ve only ever seen him in his tattered gear, perhaps an idea of what he looked like in his prime with no missing teeth, or his SF1 outfit (yes, Mike IS Bison).
- Balrog - I thought his flamboyant spaniard alt was ok but it looked like interview with the vampire. He’s a trained Ninja, so how about some sort of Ninja gear for once. It would be a nice throwback to Geki without actually having to pretend to be Geki. He’s based on him anyway so why not.
- Sagat - his SF4 alt was the best of them all IMO, but I agree some actual muay thai ring wear would be good, dare I say even lose the eye patch and scar… (this would make him too much like Adon but what the hell, a SF1 alt would be nice).
- Adon - he’s crying out for some old school Ong Bak style alt.

- Guile - I’d like to see a drunk and down Guile, or perhaps some sort of Naval ops style jumpsuit. The Charlie thing from SF4 was ok but poorly executed.
- Dhalsim - the guy in the back of his Zero 3 stage was basically Sim with no skulls and basically looked a bit poorer. India isn’t the third world but I liked that approach, could be interesting.
- Chun Li - again, she’s crying out for some Zero style outfit, I much preferred that to her cosplay design, has anyone ever seen a kung fu outfit like that??
- Makoto - seeing as her design is orthodox karate it would seem odd to modernise her, but maybe a more modern sports Gi could look good and fit (literally, make it actually fit size-wise!) with some gloves or something.
- Ibuki - I saw someone suggested her regular clothes from the SF3 win animations, seems perfect as long as they are not too generic. Either that or a school uniform that’s not the same as Sakura’s.
- Dudley - I thought stick him in proper black tie wear, suit and cumabund, then realised that’s basically what he already is. Perhaps he could have some sort of after work casual attire, like this awful example of Mr.Bale here. Yes, I’m fucking serious:

- T.Hawk - dare I say proper traditional Native American clothes? I think that would be hardcore to the max.

hahahaha, Magnum was the only thing that even looked to close to what I had so bear with me on that one. In think he had something like that in one of his old endings. But as to why they gave him 1920s safari gear forn his SF4 alt I have no idea. He looked like Steve Irwin or something. - Zangief - I’d like to see his cape back for his regular outfit anyway, I think it’s a no-brainer to give him Siberian threads. He wouldn’t have to look like a soldier though:

- Rufus - He needs biker gear badly, everyone can see this. Make him look truly awful.
- Seth - Seeing as Seth is the precursor to Gill and Urien, I think something in line with those guys, a similar looking bandage pair of shorts or a business suit would be cool. I still think Urien is miles better, I’d take him over Seth to be honest.
- Guy - Give him proper Ninja wear. I always thought he looked odd having that kit with a pair of sneakers, it really didn’t fit. The more Iga he looks the better in my book.
- E.Honda - I thought his SF4 alt style Yokozuna was bang on, it just needed more exaggeration as it looked a bit too similar.
- C.Viper - I always thought Viper was a half-assed design but her SF4 alt was even more half-assed. What would she look like when undercover? I don’t know what to say for Viper, the special ops concept art in the gallery was good though and much better than the slightly longer jacket she got as her SF4 alt. It reminded me of a female D.Dark or something, was cool.

I’m still praying they put King Cobra or Sean in somewhere or somehow, he was probably the first decent black character design I ever saw come out of Capcom. You don’t have to be black for slightly racist stereotypes to get on your nerves, after 20 years they shoud know a little better.
