After watching several of his matches, I don’t understand why he says Mago’s reactions aren’t that good. I haven’t seen many players who can react as consistently as he does (maybe Daigo). He gets baited a lot, but not more than other players. Even Marn had a WTF moment when Mago beat Dudley’s EX MGB on reaction. But then again, I can only go on the vids we see on the net. Perhaps there are super fast players elsewhere? I know Tokido mentioned that Eita is very fast.

Maybe he means that Mago is more well-known for his ability to adapt? I can believe that. He downloaded Alioune after two matches, and then it was rape. He triple perfected him at one point. Alioune could have been sandbagging though…

I guess Tokido is speaking relative to other players in Japan? I saw the entire Alioune vs. Mago set and holy shit, Mago’s reactions are beyond next level for sure. The only people I can think of that are more consistent/mind-boggling in reactions are Daigo and Sako. However, I think you alluded to a good point in that Mago does seem to get baited a lot (and I would venture to say more than the other top players out there). Maybe that’s the reason Tokido downplayed his reactions against the other top players? In either case, that set reinforced a couple of things:

Alioune has some of the best execution I’ve seen and is an extremely smart player, that much is for certain. But he straight up got MAULED by Mago. The rape Mago put on Alioune in their extended set was awe-inducing. At one point, one of the team Spooky commentators was calling it ‘The Swiss Alioune Massacre’. Yeah Sakura player is Skatan. he frequents these forums. Just go look in the Chun and Sakura sections. Or go say the word Sakura in tier discussion. That usually brings him out. As far as the tourney goes, nice to see Sako doing well this time. He had a really bad fairing down at SCR.

im not sure how u can down play alioune. he is 1 of the best players out there. Mago is a SF4 God. no one, even in Japan, can hang with him bar a few other sf4 gods. alioune beat both mago and tokido in the team tourny. Mago needed 2 games to download him. under tournament rules mago would have lost! now my question is, tell me who would fare better than alioune in a FT25 against Mago’s Fei? 25 is a different ball game, and we havent witness many top players doing that, so imo it is wrong to downplay alioune when a lot of players we feel are great could possibly do worse. Alioune is far from overrated, he just happened to meet arguably the best ssf4 player. im sure alioune could beat a lot of the top japanese players, just not the gods (elite players).

I saw Iyo play a few days ago. He has an Ibuki card with 52,000+ BP on it, but it’s not registered with the system (NO NAME). That would put him in the top 10 for total BP. I wonder why he hasn’t registered his card.

Correction the first Ryu’s name is not something ryu its Akameryu and imo is weak from the videos i saw in sf4,but may have changed,advice watch a player called popojiro as im not sure but the guy has the same execution as umehara and to tell you the truth i will be not surprised if it was daigo himself,very very entertaining ryu.

He is Inoue (at least from what is written in the previous pages, I dont know much about 3S). [edit correction: not inoue of 3s, but GG]

As for the Ryu’s name, i think ive posted this earlier, but ???can be pronounced as either akame or sekigan, I never heard people call the ryu’s name in person so I dont know for sure but since baba(the thread maker, who is Japanese btw) wrote it as sekiganryu, I assume that he goes by that name.

edit: though im leanin towards sekigan, since from what i read akame is usually written as ??..
