The hitstun buff was for the exact reasons you said. And yes, it can still fail. I’m not surprised.
Retarded, good thing this shit is free because they don’t deserve my money for that shit
did we maybe need 2 frames to ensure connecting from max range cr.hp? that is basically where he starts th ex palm. maybe he fadc’ed a frame or 2 late after hadou?
in training, position seemed to be the only barrier when I recreated this scenario, I assume he just was late on the fadc because if you start where he does next to fei at 2:38 even with counter hit off on cl.mp Gouken can finish with an EXpalm no prob, Just not from max range cr.HP and a frame or so late as here in the video
Looks like I will be sticking to sweep.
They could have add the possibility to combo Cr.MP to fireball. Would have been great wouldn’t it ?
FADC st. Mp > mp palm should work too. So I guess it will be the choice for damage/zoning over the untech set up. Depending on the match up and situation it will vary. I’m still hoping that cr fp forces stand.
Apparently it can still fail from hitting a far cr. hp, but it should work fine from cross up mk. cl. st. mp, cr. hp.
The reason why it didn’t work at the video is that he was pushed way too far first by the st. mp, cr. hp, hadou, fadc. it it was cr. hp hadou it would have worked. also, I still think it’s not a big deal. It is what it is, let’s make the best of it, since nothing we can do can change it.
That combo (in the vid) may be a bit much anyway. But maybe it works with:
MP - Far.MP x HADO x FADC - CR.HP x EXSENKU … due to less pushback on Far.MP
Cant wait for training mode hours… particularly because of U2. There could be so many possibilities to land this (beast?)…
The more I use denjin, the more it makes me win. Only by using the shitty ambiguous cross up set up I’ve made from ex palm into denjin at 470 dmg 660 stun it’s already earning me some wins, imagine after the 500 damage 800 stun. stun with 1-2 hits against the whole cast? hubba-hubba.
Denjin will be so sweet!!!
It has a few more uses than Shin Sho now.
I think it always did, it’s just that people really loved that backthrow.
I’ve tried using Denjin in my game and i liked it in one way but hated it in another.
I found, personally, anywhere i could use Denjin i could have used Shin Sho.
I sometimes picked Denjin if people pick Viper, Bison, Dhalsim, Rose. So i can OS it, to discourage Ex Siesmo, teleports and backdashes,
But i started to find my opportunities to do so less than thought, Not enough ultra meter etc, and i find an Ex Tatsu just as effiecient.
The main thing that puts me off it right now, and this is all my problem, is that i’d often get Denjin instead of Ex DF unless i’m careful with my inputs.
I use KKK button for Ex’s and on wakeup for example, i’m often to busy concentrating on the opponent to be careful with my inputs.
My issue i know but thats my reason.
I just pick Shin Sho now and play the game ^-^
I’m sure that shin sho has the advantage of huge come back damage but since they buffed denjin it might be different. I’m thinking that if the opponent absorbs a regular fireball I can throw out the fast denjin and it might hit or I get free chip. Maybe the threat of having it stocked might be greater than the use like fei long u2 against Blanka/Viper. Can’t wait to hit training.
Do you think Denjin Full charged hits after a Lvl 3 Saving Attack ?
Anyway, tomorrow till answer!
It will probably still be the standard lvl 2 denjin still I don’t think the charge times decreased enough to allow that.
Considering the plethora of ways you will be able to land Denjin in 2012 you may not even need “comeback” potential. If you are landing your 360+ dmg Ultra every round it significantly reduces your need to get a back throw for 400 damage.
Just very quickly…
Level 2 does 360 damage and 500 stun level 3 does 420 damage and 600 stun in 2012. After 1 hit on the combo counter you get these values: 288/400, 336/480
That means that off a simple AA fireball you will get:
55/50 + 288/400 for 343 damage and 450 stun. You lose 57 damage, gain 450 stun over backthrow Ultra 1, no meter needed.
If you palm through a fireball and FADC Ultra 2:
130/200 + 288/400 for 418 damage and 600 stun. For two meters you get 18 more damage and 600 stun (assume you can charge level 2)
If you kongoshin/counter into FADC Ultra 2:
150/200 + 240/320 (assume level 1) for 410 damage and 520 stun. For two meters you get 18 more damage and 520 more stun.
If you j.mp > Ultra 2:
80/100 + 288/400 for 368 damage and 500 stun. You lose 32 damage and gain 500 stun over backthrow U1, no meter needed.
That’s just 4 really easy ways to land U2 opposed to trying to get a backthrow. Plus you get the stun from all that crap. One combo after any of those and you get stun which leads to ANOTHER combo. Either j.hp > cl.st.hp xx palm or j.mk > cl.st.mp >cr.hp xx palm will cause stars afterwards on anyone with average or less health, maybe even 1050 health.
No.
It’s something like 80 frames for a full charge denjin.
Yeah… in Vanilla it didn’t scale so it was a no brainer. Miss a tech and Gouken wins. I used to HATE the mirror match b/c of that shit.
I am looking forward to palm FADC Denjin. And it’s all hit confirmable.
AH YES!!!
Gouken with either meter full is just going to be scary. I think some bad matchups will get easier with U2 but not signficantly so. I think the matchups that were even before are going to be in Gouken’s favor now. Things like Ryu/Gouken which I thought was pretty even are going to be tilted cause of shit like 495 counter super cancel or AA fireball/Palm for 350+ damage and 400+ stun or even just U2 through a fireball for wall bounce.
That’s what I think anyway. I can’t even see U1 being useful in matchups over U2 really given the imagined variety of ways you can land (and hopefully real come tomorrow) U2 with the speed boost.
[quote="snip[/quote]
And Gouken gets the old lp palm traps again!!!
@Reipin Pillage Yeah you are probably right we got more ways to land denjin so the round will probably be ours. I’m thinking like Abel’s u2 in super when it landed every round it seems it was quite annoying except gouken can tatsu in the air and bait it.
